Rim Size Effecting Performance?

How big is too big? The bigger the rim the less acceleration, grip, etc...? I am going to pick up a set of rims in september and they are 19's but I don't want it to be a negative on performance in the long run? Any suggestions on what struts and springs to run with 19's as well? Thanks for reading. :th_scratchhead:

ill say this... i just took the 20's off that are in my sig cuz i bent a lip.... they bog the car down.... hard on suspension parts... and took 7 MPg from me. i put my torque stars back on but will prob get some really light 18's in the near future....oh and braking goes to ****... i have F bodies and powerslot 12 in rotors and still felt it pretty good compared to stock rims

You will notice a differnce if your stock.
I do on my regal when going from 18s to 16s, but my GTP with over 300HP I cant tell at all. Too much power.. haha

I think 18s are the biggest you can go and still have good performance. Traction becomes a slight issue if you dont get good tires.

There's plenty of light weight 18s out there, just not cheap.

bio's car had 19's on it and they looked sexy. if i ever get the chance to buy rims i'm going 18's though. like a nice set of enkei's. they tend to be pretty light. i've actually heard rumors that the torque stars were designed/manufactured by enkei

I didn't know Tumors could talk

anyway I have Falken 18"s and I've noticed no real difference in performance or braking from the Fat Fives I originally had.

19" tires are hard to find at good prices. if you make the choice to go bigger than 18s, just get 20s.

that being said, you will notice a difference, but if you mainly just cruise in your car or drive fairly normal you won't really notice much of a difference.

trans going in and out of lockup at low speeds and hills aggravated me the most with 20's... oh yea and the bumps.... and.... making me slow. did i say gas mileage?

Yeah i know the ones that my Comp g had on stock are enkei i know that for a fact and they are light as all hell compared to my MKW rims

All stock alloys were made by enkei. take off your wheels and look on the back.

The size and offset is also listed there as well as the place of manufacture.

Understatement, especially when heavily modded.
