Resevoir for intercooler?

Hey Scotty so the pump and he fittings are all 3/4" and you told me to run 3/4" hose so that's what I'm doing but the actual intercooler core fittings are 5/8" so would it be best to just run a 3/4 to 5/8 90* elbow right before it connects to the core?

and that's one of the reasons we don't like zzp. you could plump in an ice box to the trunk, use water in the intercooler system, then add ice when you want to drop the temperatures to sub ambient.

Well I've been thinking about it and I decided I do want to get an ice resevoir tank. The only issue I'm having is I would like to mount it right next to the hoodlatch on top of the metal bumper brace but I am having a hard time finding one that will fit. I figure mounting it there it won't technically be in the hot engine bay, itll have the air from the top two grill vents coming in, it will be easy to fill, and I don't have to deal with the pain in the a** of running hoses all the way to my trunk. The upgraded cobra one seems like it would fit but is 250$ which is a lot when most are in the 100-160$ range

I was thinking I could get a pretty decently sized one and then have it welded to the driver side engine brace but then its in the hot engine bay and the ice would probably just melt way fast.

might want to find something that has the same size fittings as the other components. that one has 1/2", I think yours has 5/8"s

Well their 1/2 npt fittings the same as the zzp heat exchanger. I would plan on just getting 1/2 npt to 3/4 barb fittings so I can run 3/4 hose like on the he

Or I can get a cx racing one that holds twice the amount of fluid and is the same price but then it would have to mount in the engine bay.

Does anyone know of anyone that has used a phenolic spacer with a zzp intercooler? I would like to have a similar setup to a phenolic core?

just get this one and call it good:

and while you are at it:

it might be worthwhile to sell that zzp heat exchanger and get the spectre cu98 because it has bigger inlet and outlet lines
I've heard of the vw radiator. The only reason I didnt get it is because in the summer time here u get slight over heating problems. So I didn't want to get anything big that blocked the radiator much. I do really like that ice tank though and its a really good price compared to others. I'm still really hopefull though that ill find a tank I don't have to run to the trunk.

On a side note I went to home depot to grab hose and I want clear hose but they only had 2 selections. One was rated at 175* but they only had that one in a 5/8" inner diameter. The other one they had in 3/4" made out of the same vinyl and it was "reinforced" but apparently is only rated for 125* so now I dont know ehat to do about hose. From what I have heard on here 150* is pretty much the max intercooler coolant.

What mix of coolant do you run in the summer? Run any RMI-25/water wetter/royal purple ice? What thermostat? What temps are your fans set for? I ran straight water and rmi-25 with a 180 thermostat and my temps stayed at 180, even in traffic.

Its 50/50 right now with a 180* that's tuned for it as well. Normally its not a big deal but I live in Arizona so on the 120+ days it'll slowly creep up and up if I'm stuck in traffic. I was actually thinking of switching to a distilled water only or maybe just a small amount of antifreeze since the winters very rarely get below 30

Try distilled water and a bottle of rmi-25. There's a GN guy in Arizona that uses it in a 600hp+ street car. If it tames that pissed off gn in the Arizona heat I have no doubt it'll help you

Ya I was thinking water wetter but ill look that stuff up. I think what really kills me is that I'm topswapped so I have a 5/8" radiator compared to the gtp guys 1"

5/8 th rad cools the same as a one inch, its what im running. temps are 100% the same. modded or stock, still the same.

Is it really necessary to remove the "h beam" on the supercharger? It seems if you had a ported lim you should still be getting plenty of air to the non outlet side.
