Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hows it going fellas....wondering if anyone can give me a little help here.
I have a 1998 GTP that began to have bad sputtering while driving. After a few weeks of driving it in that condition it just died on me, the RPM gauge was acting up too. Pulled over and it started back up with no issues. Now its not starting at all !! I just replaced the spark plugs ,coils back to stock (had msd's on), fuel pump, crank position sensor (cps) and the knock sensor but still it wont start. What else should do ?? Any help/tips will be much appreciated !

Hmmmm....good question. I think i do. There is 1/2 a tank in it and there is fuel pressure. Well and spark....i dont know, how can i check that ? Sorry not tooo familiar with certain things yet. Im always willing to learn and getttin dirty !! Especially for my bby. (my car)

You can spray a bit of starter fluid into your into to verify if it may be a fueling issue...have someone spray it while you try to start it. Did you check your fuses? Mainly the fuel pump fuse.

Spark is easy to check. Pull a plug wire and plug, hold the plug up and have someone crank it over a little, if you see spark in your plug, you should be good. but DO NOT touch the end of the plug while it is being cranked over.....it is not a pleasant feeling

Should I ask if you figured that out all by yourself? Ever tried whizzing on an electric fence? (I'm kidding, please don't take offense, I just chuckled when I saw your comment!)

you can take one wire off the coil pack, hold the wire close the coil while someone else cranks the engine, look for sparks to be jumping from coil to plug wire.

If you find out if you have spark... in my 'bonnie over the last 175,000 miles I've replaced the ignition module twice; just a thought. The bonnie also did the same thing, stopped on me, then cooled off a bit and started back up. Did a few times like that, then it didn't want to start at all.

I can't believe you changed all those parts and never even checked fuel and spark.

i did check for fuel just didnt know how to check for spark....i had a "mechanic" come over to work on it and well he said i needed to replace those parts. in the end it still didnt start.

Well i just had another Mechanic check out my GP, it seems to me that this guy knew what he was doing. The other guy assured me that it would be fixed after replacing the CPS, but he was wrong ! The new Mechanic tells me to replace the Ignition Module ( is that the thing underneath the ignition coils ? ) Its running and all but it runs like CRAPP !!! It sputters when it reaches 4K rpm's in a complete stop and it does not take off like it did before. What else should i be concerned about fellas ??

you can take the icm, out and have it tested, but most of the time the test says good when its bad. jy's are the best place short of new to get another one. also make sure the ground wire is bolted on and the wire is good. its a single black wire bolted to the side of the head under the icm.

and on the bottom is a strip of wires, its bolted on in the middle of the plug, 7 mm i think.

you were right scotty, i took the ICM to get tested and they said its working. I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Would the ICM be the cause of the sputtering and loss of power ? I cant drive it like i stole it anymore !!

Had someone a little to eager helping me one time, he cranked it while i had the end of the plug wire in my hand....almost shot him

Well fellas.....my ride is running and all but still running like crapppp !!! Ive replaced the spark plugs and double checked the plug wires. I also took the coils to get checked and they are fine. dont know what else to do ! Any more suggestions ?

Possibly check out your MAF. Mine went out and the car would barely start and just sputter. Unplug the sensor and see if it will start.
