Damn that sounds pretty sweet. I looked up the model number with "root" and just rooted phones popped up. Hopefully they figure something out haha. Until then, I'm sure I'll be occupied messing with it n figuring it all out when I get a chance. I'll let ya guys know how it is. I seen a lot of people liking it and not liking it. I'm a tech kind of guy so I have a feeling I'll like it, especially when my phone gets rooted.Oh, I thought that was the Android based Pioneer head unit. They have one out yet, but last I heard XDA (forum for Android peeps) hasn't been able to root it yet. When I say Android based, I mean the head unit literally runs Android. Like you forgot to take your cell phone out of the car, your head unit and your cell phone had a few drinks, one thing leads to another, and you have a cell phone mounted in place of your head unit, but it's still connected up to your amps and has all the front\rear\sub\eq settings that a normal head unit would have.
Support for OBD 2 adapters would require Android to running on the head unit. Then you could use an App called Torque to monitor KR, trans temp, every sensor's read out, etc...from your head unit. Then it gets fun, it'll fade the audio out to tell you that you have KR, all kinds of fun stuff to occupy you for HOURS and HOURS setting it up.
Not hooked up yet, I went to best buy before I bought it tho n messed with it for a minute. I talked to the guy there n he said he'd hook the app radio/mirrorlink stuff up n come back in 20. I went back n he was still messing with n so I never bothered going back n just ordered it. I liked it tho. How's the quality of the HU. I tried it out before and it felt very cheap compared to the way the avh series felt.
Hmm yeah, what radio do you have? Brand n model? The Android stuff takes patience, TRUST ME. I've had mine for a few months and I just got it the way I like it. I haven't started play with the GPS though, that stuff would really get confusing. Normal GS is easy, but with this stuff I can make it track the way I'm driving and if I pass a certain waypoint I set it'll automatically route me to a destination. For example if it sees me getting on a freeway that I always take home, it'll automatically set up a route going home...accounting for traffic, construction, etc.
Will I ever set that up? I dunno, lol. I kinda wish I knew someone with a name brand A\V receiver so I could play with it and see what all they can do.
Now if we could only do something about those fender hashes.
