Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

I wouldnt drop 2k on rims for any car when you can find rims almost like them for cheaper lol all your doing is buying a name

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

Well for instance when you have something high end like let's say a vette, ctsv, lexus etc I wouldn't mind paying that for rims (you should be able to afford them) but for a Grand Prix nope it's pointless.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

Just like buying the Accuair E-level kit for a grand prix..... even though thats what im doing hahaha

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

Well there's really no cheap bag set up so in this case you gotta pay to play.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

So I went n bought a power supply today so I could play with these inside..Then I was going to mount them today but ran into a problem.. I was going to just jb weld them into the black backing of the headlight, but being set so far back, they're hitting the core support of the actual car. I cut a bigger hole in the black support thing that we normally cut, but with the bulbs in the projector and then connected to the ballast, there's no possible way of mounting them like that, so back to square one. It seems like the only way is with some bolts and brackets. I'll keep playing with them until I find a way, just would be easiest to just jb weld them instead of mcguyvering up some brackets

Where'd you get the power supply from been meaning to pick one up myself so I can stop draining my battery

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

I went to walmart first, it said on the website that they had some, but I couldn't find any in store. So I'd look online there first and call n see if they carry them.
then I went to a computer store, it's called microcenter, they aren't everywhere tho. So maybe check locations for one near ya. It was only 15 bucks and they had cheaper ones too. But that's about the average price I found was 15-20. N you'll also need a 4 pin moles extension or y cable. And then a headlight pigtail to be able to plug the ballasts in like you would into the car. I just cut up an old hid relay for that..

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

Guess I'll have to do some googling and find a computer supply place. Thanks dude

You can find a cheap power supply on Craigslist Got mine for $5

I forgot that I had to cut some of my support in the car, so did RoadRash who also did a Quad projector setup with the FX-R and he had to cut a bit of the support as well.

Yeah I cut my frame with no problem, I just notched it out about an inch back, you don't need alot. I would also like to see you keep the reflector for the projector mount...I always thought I might be able to do that.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged - FX-R Quad Retrofit Started

Keeping the reflector won't happen unless you either willing to run shroudless or cut the shroud a bunch to get everything to clear. There's not much space left to really do anything easily.
