2002 Grand Prix. I could only turn the plug 1/4 turn and no coolant drained. Should the plug turn further or is the drain plugged? I don't want to break the plug!
 


mine only turned a quarter of the way.....it did not drain well until the small blockage was removed........use a coat hanger or something to get in there. I dont believe it opens more than that without breaking it. Mine drained pretty fast after blockage was cleared and it was only open a quarter turn........fwiw
 
Hard to get to? It may be hard to turn, if it has not been used in a long time, if ever. It is extremely easy to get to though. Reach straight in from the top.
 
Mine just really was not. What you describe is like what is on my Vibe, this was not however. It had nothing to grab into, just a slot on the top of it. I ended up using pliers to turn the damn thing out!

yours must have been broken or replaced with something other than stock. the stockers have a tab that you just grab onto and turn. I see why you would think that it is harder without something to hold onto though.
