Hey everyone, got a question about my sister in law's 2000 grand prix gt.
It is severely leaking power steering fluid. It appears to be coming out of the tie rod boot on the passenger side, but by running my fingers in the grooves of the boot, i don't feel any obvious tears. It leaks out without the car being on, too, especially if the front end is jacked up.
My assumption is that the steering gear is leaking.
So my question is, can the rack & pinion leak with the car not even running? If it stops leaking, and I fill the power steering reservoir back up, it starts leaking again without turning the car on. I've already replaced the power steering pump, twice. I checked really good and it didn't look like anything was dripping onto that boot.
