Pulled over for the first time.

so after almost 3 years and 50,000 miles I got pulled over for the first time... and I wasn't even doing anything wrong... lol

Not saying the officer had no reason to pull me over just not a real reason... some of you may know my car is a little routy makes a weee bit of noise...

So I'm leaving the shop "was working late about 8:30pm" pull out of the parking lot just cruising along come up to my first turn about 900feet down the road from the shop.
"stoped looked down the road and their was a car coming but it was down there a good quarter mile and this is a 25mph area so I pulled out. Still just cruising along almost off the gas completly doing about 24mph when I notice that the car behind me was a cop. I didn't think a thing of it because I wasn't speeding or anything.

Then I see the lights flick on and I was like hmm and pulled on over put her in park and rolled the window down. "this is about a minute and a half after getting in my car I'm not even 1/2 mile away from the shop lol.

So the officer puts his spotlite on the side of my car "couldn't even see him walk up" but he did and he says
"I'm Officer so and so with the Centerville police department"
Me "Hi"
Officer "I need you to turn the car off"
Me "alright"
Officer "you got a hole in your muffler"
Me "umm Yea I know, I need to get that thing fixed..."
Officer " can I see your license, registration and proof of insurance"
Me "Sure I think thats the right one"
Officer "this is for a chevy give me the other one"
Me "here you go"
Officer "alright who owns the vehical"
Me "I think It's registerd under my mommys name":(
Officer "alright I'll be right back"

so I wait a few minutes I was pretty calm the whole time because I knew I didn't do anything wrong. I was also laughing my ass off because he was telling me that I have a hole in my muffller when In fact I don't my muffler just doesn't really muffle anything lol.

Now the officer comes back hands me my license and gives me a warning that says faulty muffler. I say thanks and have a good night and go to start my car....

Well being that my car was just started ran a few minutes and then shut off... it decideds to go all Race Kar on me.... Thing hesitates to start for about a second and a half and then it fires up to the craziest cam surge I've ever had My tac is just bounceing from 0-1000.

all the time the officer is still behind me and I'm thinking oh **** he's going to relize its not no faulty muffler its the way I made it....so I slowly pull out and he gets in the next line at the light and catchs a look at my hood... just looks at me and shakes his head...

lol a Grand prix with a lope gets pulled over, but my true dual 3" exhaust cammed camaro doesnt. im not complaining its just thats funny

i guess its all how you act.
 


LOL. yeahhhh you shoulda just told him it lopes because cam and there's nothing you can do about it. BUT im pretty sure he got the gist of that when he seen the side of your car and shook his head at you :p
 
He couldn't have pulled you over for the same thing twice. That would be double jeopardy and anything from the second time and anything there after would have been thrown out.

its not how we act its just that when camaro or a mustang or the like make a ton of noise everyones just like oh its a camaro nothing wrong with it being loud...

I just can't belive he told me I have a hole in my muffler the rest of my car is flawless and you think I would drive around with a rusted out muffler?

yeah my cars louder than it should be but its not as loud as one of those rediculous turbo disels I should have told him to go run that fedex truck down for the same thing

I really don't see how they can tell me to fix anything when I meet emissions, past safety and am still not as loud as a diesel, motor bike, and even your typical rice burner.

I'm starting to think the guy ran my plates said hmm this guy dosen't live in this town he must be here to sell drugs or the like lets see I'll tell him I pulled him over for a faulty muffler
 
Do you know what db level your exhaust is? As much as it sucks that you got pulled over for it, there is infact a decible level or distance to noise law in most states.
 
Are you guys serious right now? Police pull over whoever they can, whenever they can. It's their job.

I'd be glad it was just a warning and you didn't get a fix it ticket. With a fix it ticket, you would have to have had it signed off by an officer who you would have to prove to that your car is legal.

The way I see it, anytime you get a warning, you get off lucky.

spade I said in the first post that he had the right to pull me over like you said its their job I don't think the guy was an ass or anything I just think to get pulled over at 8:30pm on a friday night while driving slower than my grandmother is funny and the fac tthat they had to see all my paper and information just to tell me that my cars a bit too loud then sit there and ask me questions about where I'm coming from and where I'm going... wth did they think I was up too?
 
Sounds like a good stop to me. ANd again, be glad it was just a warning! You should have came back with something like... Hey there bacon boy, I piss excellence! hahaha OK, maybe not.

haha. i understand what you mean. it'd probably piss me off that they were asking where i've been and where i'm going and what i'm gonna do. hell it aint none of their damn business! so yeah, it'd probably make me angry too...but i have a problem with authority so thats my excuse.
