You are most likely floating the hell out of the valves due to the junk, TOO SMALL exhaust housing on that turbo, which is letting you see 16psi and not flowing any air. My hx35 was maxing out 42lb injectors on 14psi and I was running a upgraded maf, stock valve springs.

You said I didn't make more than 280HP on stock injectors...dead wrong. Too small turbo, you've been throwing negative comments towards me since last year when I mentionned I'd be using the GTX3076 turbo, you said it was completely wrong for this engine... wrong again.

You said I couldn't make more than 300HP on the stock MAF... wrong again.

You were dead wrong 5 times in as many attempts at educating me.

Yea we could. I love this setup so much its going in my daily driver and both engines in the twin engine setup

As for the injectors and maf its a moot point imo if the cars running on the ragged edge and putting down back to back 11s who cares, as long as it holds up.

This makes me think of the e85 car i bought from greg the engine combo is nothing special but a good tune great trans and 330whp/400wtq is one hell of a fun car thats pretty drama free with a short build list.

Same with this car the mod list certianly doesnt make one expect it to run what it does but i doubted it too until the slips came out.

Thanks, now I'm debating do I try to go for a high 10s on the same setup, just to push the limit of the setup.
So far it's been handling the power with ease.

Slightly taller/wider slicks for a better 60 foot, right there good for a few tenths.
Hit the quicker NHRA track.

What I believe it could do if the conditions are right with the above changes:
At the same boost 11.4 is certainly realistic.
Then upping the boost to 22 psi. Extra fuel via progressive methanol injection.
Should be good for high 10s with a great launch @ 125 mph+

Or do I concentrate and complete the Twin Engine set up which would probably take a few weeks to do because it had a lot of safety equipment to be installed.

Personally, I'd get it a little faster just to shove it in the face of the naysayers... But I'm vindictive like that LOL Plus twin engine has been on hold a while anyway, another month or two won't hurt. Just a little worried that hard parts are gonna start snapping in that trans with the taller slicks and more power. But I used to go to pullapart and get me a $102.50 trans when mine blew and sell the HD diff upgrade outta my bad one for about $150 so I was only out labor and got my trans, fluid, and beer free.

Not much of a tuner myself(I can folow a how to guide lol) but I guess so long as your wideband is reading good, maxing the maf isn't too big a deal??

In progress of swapping a 5.3 iron block into my GTO now and planning for a budget twin turbo build later on down the road after I get everything else up to par with her. Your build has given me much more confidence that homemade/budget builds work, and work well if done right.
 
You notice what your intake temps are at running non ic? Considering putting my turbo on without a ic temporally

I got a holset H1C, little bigger than what you have, but probably a crossover similiar to yours t3/t4 flange and V-Band on the DP side.

We are a professional turbo shop. Since it's my parts car and just a project for fun, is made out of all the left over piping, left over silicone and off the shelf turbo that was not used for other projects.
This is why the project isn't on my main Youtube page as it is substandard in terms of looks. When we do a machine for a customer esthetics is just as important as the performance.
Making it all work perfect certain requires a good amount of knowledge. I would recommend buying a kit unless you really understand how all of this work and are a good tig welder.
All the pipes on my car are tig welded. Mig welding usually tends to crack especially the manifold welds.

as for the tuning with a maxout out MAF, it's not ideal because in the event you blow off the vacuum line going to the Wastegate (which controls the boost) blows off, you could hurt the engine as the PCM has no way of knowing how much more fuel to add for the extra boost. I am confident in my install so I have no worries about this. I have a 6th sense when it comes to listening and feeling the engine's power I would know right away if there was something off.
I also have my HP tuner scanner running in my Surface 2 in the dash as well.

Same goes for maxed out injectors. Only dangerous if you overboost other wise no problem.

I have a massive intercooler. It's too easy intercooling a turbo it's a MUST. But running non intercooled turbo is not as bad as running non intercooled S/C.
But I still highly recommend an intercooler if not don't run too much boost.

Maybe bigger in size but not in flow...

Your turbo is only good for around 48-50lbs per min. It's a much smaller turbo.
Mine is good to 65 lbs per min

I'm leaning towards improve my time, I had a lot of fun this weekend, I can easily get replacement engine/trans for cheap. If it brakes I already have 2 good engine trans in the twin engine.
That was my spare engine/trans anyways.

I feel confident in the trans. If it starts slipping or flaring I'll stop. I just hope I will not break the input shaft. I will probably bring the big shop trailer and my turbo Side by Side to pull the car just in case.
I just hate bringing the trailer, people expect too much. You bring out a 500$ car + turbo kit out of a 18 000$ trailer haha

I've got a decent understanding but plan on doing massive amounts of research before buying a single piece. I'm okay at tig welding but my dad does it for a living on commercial stainless kitchen equipment so I'll tac it and let him make it pretty. I knew you were a pro shop, just meant more the budget/homebrew feel of the project itself.

That's good then. It was not as simple as it looked. We have not turboed a GTP before, it looked incredibly easy. We spent more time than we wanted but I'm happy with the results.
Just to let you know. Buying a kit certainly makes it easier but I didn't want to use the stock LIM from the S/C

check out the quietness of the exhaust, it's really something, plus the car sounds like an airplane when cruising.

 


Again maxing the maf is completely different than what you have been saying. When you were going on and on about how much power you were making you never said you were maxing it out which supports my statement of how much power you were making. I said you would be around 12.0 on a not maxxed maf so obviously youll be faster than that on one That is maxxed out...

I think the fair thing to do in your case is simply admit you were wrong. You said it was impossible to run the times I claimed with stock injectors and stock maf I prove it could be done.
You even went as far as saying 290 HP max with my setup. You really think I'm at 290HP with the E.T and MPH I'm getting ?? Of course not.

Heck I'm at 11.6 a/f ratio I could easily go full 116 octane race fuel and run 12.6 a/f safely and run 20 psi of boost and run even quicker.
I will try to go for low 11s and high 10s if I can find traction.

Got a set of 26 X 10.5 X 16 E.T. streets and I can't get any traction in my testing. I light them up to 75 MPH... not good.
The tiny slicks hooked better.

I will have to go full slicks of similar size (15" rim)
 
Bullsh!t kid. You never said anything about maxing the maf until page 6, well after i said you couldnt be making xxx on the stock maf.
 
I'm guessing that with the lack of tuning we are not talking about maxing the maf table at 511 gps we are talking about him going over 11 and a half kilohertz...

while what he is doing is unsafe and could lead to shortened drivetrain life. .. or pistons anyways.
I am still a firm believer that people put too much fuel into these short deck motors.
