Project Rallycross

I've seen a lot of bad ideas come up in this forum, but I think this might be the worst.

I see zero suspension mods listed...

11s in a G8 don't impress me much.

Who loves these cars? They have many factory flaws. One of the biggest being the suspension and body roll. Another is heat soak. Not to mention the terrible transmissions.

Wanna tell me more about your sweet off road lights and pushbar?

Famous Last Words.

That's why all dirt track drivers have fwd cars, right?

I took my Grand Prix to a monster truck rally yesterday. Won first place. Thankfully I still had snow tires on it.

And all this in a small part of a subject were the OP is just looking for advise and interesting comments about his ride and what he's doing with it.

Op wants to ask for advice then tell everyone they are wrong when in fact, they are right. I like how you call me out and noone else. Weird.

whats everyones deal with this thread? the guy is gonna mess around in dirt and have fun in a cheap ass w body and surprise some people.
dont like it? deal with it.

like my friend spade i dislike when someone misrepresents their actions and intentions.

i've been researching rallycross and roadrally
and i've been lurking on grassrootsmotorsports since they are actually based in daytona
i for one would have entered in my pos gtp w/ gpo's and roof rails just to piss off people on here
esp if i rolled it

however the number one drawback is there is no stick
stripped down to nothing the car gets a few hundred pounds lighter if you remove almost everything

unfort the number one concern about the x races is cornering so he needs to build up what the wbody lacks from the factory. a decent suspension and then with rally you'll need ground clearance and underside protection

i'm rambling w/o a coherent thought

Why is it when someone on here talks about any kind of racing with their GP they get shot down. If the person is looking to be competitive then yea, shouldn't have this car. If its for fun why shoot them down?

i came here for something interesting. i was horribly mistaken.

what about safety and driver protection? why aren't they on the mod list

how are you going to meet SCCA guidelines. unless your just going to do road rallys
unfortunately here in the south, the backwoods rednecks actually require cages to compete

so lets hear how you're going to puter out of the questions i asked
I never said it was sanctioned by the SCCA. It's not. I never claimed it to be anything organized by some national governing body. If you are interested in joining you can PM me for more details. We do all wear helmets but we don't use cages. Dangerous? I'm sure, but so was nascar when they did it without cages.

Besides that's where any motorsport started. Guys having fun on the weekends in their regular cars as "wannabees"
That's exactly what we are doing. We have some beater cars, we have some land, why not just thrash around in the dirt for fun. You guys act like I said I was entering it in the Dakar or something.

maybe people wouldn't have gotten the wrong idea if you named the thread Project FieldRunner
so the SCCA comes from the thread title

Should of titled it backyard ken blocking it. Then we would of sort of figured out what you were doing. Rallycross sounds like some official ****.
