• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Project Rallycross

Just ordered some maintenance things finally, fuel filter, transmission filter, spark plug wires, thermostat (180), valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket. Now i just need plugs but I couldn't find colder plugs on rock auto.

Just go to a parts store and pay the 12 bucks for 6 plugs.

I don't know how modded the car is, but colder plugs won't help anything unless its pushing alot of horsepower, may aswell just stick with some 605's or 606 copper cores.

i came here for something interesting. i was horribly mistaken.

what about safety and driver protection? why aren't they on the mod list

how are you going to meet SCCA guidelines. unless your just going to do road rallys
unfortunately here in the south, the backwoods rednecks actually require cages to compete

so lets hear how you're going to puter out of the questions i asked

For SCCA Rallyx, you don't need a cage or any safety equipment. The car needs to pass a tech inspection in which they check the wheels for play, check the battery tie down, throttle return spring, and make sure there is no garbage loose in the car.. You also need a helmet.

It's the same thing in AutoX.

This is just a club sport. If it required money be put into the car just at the base classes then it would be a dead sport. I like the basic rules so anyone can go out there and run. It's a very safe sport for the drivers.

Basically, for those who haven't caught on yet, this isn't rally cross. It's some wannabes getting together and driving cheap cars off road. True rally cross is an awesome thing, but this is something that I did on soccer fields in a Honda when I was 16.

For comparison, this is like trying to call the 24 hours of lemons the same thing as the 24 hours of Le Mons, but in the lemons race, they actually require a full cage and safety equipment.

So they shouldn't be out there? Its still rally. Some of those regular guys are the best drivers you've seen.

All that matters is if they're having fun.
