One more question. I put the clutch packs on correctly, but when I look back at the pictures I took, it looks like the clutches are in too far, like the inner pack wouldn't grab on the 4th hub. Will that be a problem, or will they get pushed out/centered just fine?

Picture from right after installing the hub. I put the little plastic ring on first, then installed the shaft, using a rubber mallet to firmly seat it.
One more question. I put the clutch packs on correctly, but when I look back at the pictures I took, it looks like the clutches are in too far, like the inner pack wouldn't grab on the 4th hub. Will that be a problem, or will they get pushed out/centered just fine?

Did you put the thrust washer back on correctly? It has little alignment pins on it that should insert into the support.
I would be sitting on the cookie cutter, it should just slide right in without any effort. But to answer your question, by the look of the picture it isn't installed correctly. Looks like you need to take the cookie cutter back out and check that thrust washer.

The site I was going off of said this "Use Vaseline or transmission assembly gel to affix 4th hub/drive shaft thrust washer onto the conical guide of the channel plate."
I put it where the arrow is pointing, it fit right in the grooves. That wouldn't affect where the clutches line up on the hub before installing the channel plate because it hadn't been on yet at that point.
Or do you mean this thing? I put it back on correctly:

It looked like the hub wasn't in far enough.
There shouldn't be but Maybe 1/8" of hub sticking out past the clutch pack. The washer looks like you installed it correctly. Is the drive gear seated all the way??
Yes Vaseline works well as an assembly jel.
Just make sure the thrust washers are completely seated in the grooves they go into
Also check the reluctor ring on the other drive gear, it has 3 little pins that get pretty loose and cause stupid problems.

Well I put the plastic washer in the spot, and the holes lined up, I pushed the hub in a little bit by hand, but it was a tight fit and I couldn't get at it well with the knuckle in the way, so I tapped it in a circular motion with the mallet, and when it stopped going any further, I used a bit more force to be completely sure. I never saw the plastic washer come out, I don't think it would, but I wasn't paying really well attention to it since I didn't think it was going anywhere. I didn't use any gel on that piece since it stayed where it was at when I placed it there. I'd like to check and make sure, but I already have the channel plate and pump torqued on. I don't mind going back and making sure, as long as I can still use my new metal channel plate gaskets.
There was probably about 1/4 inch of the hub sticking out right before I installed the channel plate. I don't know what else would cause it to stick out more, unless the clutches were severely worn, which mine aren't.
I'll go back and check as long as the new metal gasket can re used after being on for only a day, is that possible? And I assume I was correct, the only two washers that are delt with when working with the hub are the plastic one with 4 pins, and the metal one with the 3 tabs?

1/4" feels like too much to me as well. I'd agree that likely the bushing moved when you started tapping.

I have reused the gaskets once (had too) and didn't have any ill effects, but if you choose to you do so on your own free will not because I said to. Lol
Metal gaskets usually don't like being retorqued, but the paper gaskets would be fine. Don't know at the moment which ones you have.

lol. Well I can guarantee you I don't remember dealing with that other metal washer that goes where the pump is. So I guess I'll take apart and look. When I took it off, nothing stayed with the channel plate at all. It all just went, clang, on the ground. I'll make sure I find it, and also make sure that the plastic washer didn't hang down when inserting the 4th shaft. I'll use gel to hold it. Thanks guys. Ok well I tore it all apart again, and somehow the plastic washer that goes around the pump shaft is right where it's supposed to be(Even though I never saw it). I bet it stayed in the trans when I took the channel plate off. Unfortunately 2/3 tabs are broken, and when I picked it up, it pretty much crumbled in my hands... So now it's got 1 tab and a 1 crack. I'm going to need to order a thrust washer kit aren't I? I really don't want to wait a week to get parts, think the dealer would have it?

You should have Several transmission shops or transmission parts warehouses up there. Call around and see if a shop has one. You would just need to get the bad ones.
Which ones are bad? There are 3 washers in play when your replacing the cookie cutter. Shoot some pics of all three washers.

Here are two of them, the third is already in the trans and I installed the side cover with two bolts to keep stuff out while it sits. It looks good though.

If I'm not mistaken the white nylon washer is the one that goes under the cookie cutter. (I think). That would be the reason it wasn't sitting flush.
Install EVERY washer with Vaseline!!
The other two will probably need replacing as well. You might also want to take a look at the 3 steels, i was looking through your pics and saw an ear on one of them bent. It has to be straight. (The one below your arrow)

No, the metal one goes behind the cookie cutter. You can't interchange any of the 3 as they all have different types of tabs. The white one has 3 large tabs which fit around the pump shaft area on the channel plate, the metal one behind the cookie cutter has 3 small tabs. The one in front of the cookie cutter has 4 pins. I will use Vaseline on all washers, that's not why I'm having this issue now but I'll always use it. If you look at the first picture on this page, you can see the washer stuck to the trans, I reassembled it like that, causing it to crack. I took the 4th clutch hub back out and used vasoline on the washer, and reinstalled, and it went in by hand all the way. It appears to be the same as before but we'll see.
And I'm pretty sure the tab on the steel disks are straight, that's probably an optical illusion with the shadow. But I'll double check. Edit: they're all perfectly straight.
Also I'm trying to find transmissions parts places around me online, and I can only find transmission service shops.
