The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Well today got off to a bad start. Over slept an hour on going to pick up memaw from the hospital. Luckily she was running late herself. Can always count on the two of us to be late lol. Anyway, day was okay. Told her about MI, and to tell you the truth I would have rather killed myself than watch her go through the pain those words put her through. She BALLED. So, I'm all upset about that... check back in a few days on that subject.
And then. Took her to a heart specialist. Got a treatment plan and some other news. More depressing. AND TO TOP THAT OFF, great grandad has alzheimers right. Well he forgot where he was, told us we were lying to him, he said we must think he's crazy. He said he lived there. So while everyone's in tears we're trying to get him in the grand prix...it was just a long night.
Been there and understand the issues that go with it. Read up a bit if you haven't and learn about working with them instead of trying to explain reality to them. Often they can't comprehend our reality as their minds are living in a different one or a certain period time from their life.
My Step Gram was often telling me about my white cat... my only assumption is Step Dad had a white cat when he was younger. Was much easier to go with it than explain the truth.
You could always suggest going for a cheeseburger or collard greens etc (whatever he'd like to go out for) then he's in the car and by the time you are back where he's staying, he won't remember why he got in the car.
One of my favorite customers at the hardware hadn't been in for awhile when I started back working so I asked about him one day. Turns out he has alzhemiers(sp) now. Well he came in a few weeks ago and it was awful. I didn't know how to deal with it and he was confused and couldn't explain what he was looking for. I felt awful.
As for me, I'm off to a funeral.
Such a fun filled day, I think I'd rather be working. Me no gusta funerals.
It was Lee's grandpa. Who I'd only seen a handful of times. I just don't do well with funerals at all. Death scares me. I can't look at caskets. I'll be a mess if my parents die, and being a only child it will be even harder.
