Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

they can call on you for jury duty here every 3 years, the guy next to me has served 5 times, the last time he was called in was 3 years and a month ago lol, i was like man once they got your # they just keep using you.

and i was surprised to see the mix up of age groups, from kids to old people.

this place is like fort knocks 10 cops at every door with metal detectors, and a x ray. you aint getting any weapons in there. go act crazy all you want, they have a room just for you lol

it was really like being baby sat all day with 150 other adults, they set up a large tv and played terrible movies all day while we waited around all day and got ushered from room to room, say "here" when you hear your name crap, all day long.

out side the court room they had large pews set up and they were unused, i laid down and crashed for a good hour lol

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

I haven't been called up yet but I've been a registered voter since I was 18. I know every one seems to HATE it and DREAD it but I think it would be kinda neat to serve on a jury. My opinion might change once I'm in the position but I still think it would be neat as of yet. Not fun, and not that I'd WANT to, but I wouldn't hate it. That's all.

I've been summoned for jury duty twice. The first time I got out of it because I told them I could not afford to miss work. (Jury duty here only pays something like $10 a day and they don't pay for lunch or parking, so in reality I have to pay to be on jury duty)

The second time I was unemployed so there was not getting out of it. I went and sat there for a long ass time and then they ended up calling me and a group of people. I knew I wasn't going to get picked because I have family that works in corrections, I know cops, I am for the death penalty, etc. They ended up dismissing me from that case and sent me back to the main court room. When I got there they told a large group of us to go get lunch and be back in 2 hours. Went to lunch with a kid I had been BSing with, came back, and they told us to go home and we didn't have to come back the next day.

Anyway, you do NOT want to have jury duty.

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

they pay $5 a day for the first 3 days, $45 a day for every day after the third.

the woman's like DO NOT FORGET TO GET YOUR PARKING VALIDATED! you are getting paid $5 dollars for today, parking a full day in the lot cost $8 lol

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

I got 26 in at my 'main' job and by tomorrow night I will have 20. So it was a normal week for the most part, just to busy/crazy/awful.

Just glad it's all over. Went and had dinner with my best friend and we enjoyed some drinks. Made things a little better.

This scenario seems familiar to me.....OH that's right the Military does the same SH!T. Hurry up and wait motherf**ker.

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

There were only 10 of these made, GM kept it a secret so their value would stay high.
I give you, the extremely rare, Hover-GTO, the first trans-oceanic car!

wow man. my gma (who didn't register to vote until 2008) had never been called for jury duty until shortly after she registered. she was so mad lol. BUT she was on the sequestered jury. They paid for all 3 meals a day, they put her up in a nice hotel, she said she loved the going out to eat 3 times a day lol.

And actually she didn't hate the jury duty that much. She didn't like it, but she thought parts of it were neat. And believe me she would have rather had her foot ran over by a bus than do jury duty...this was before she'd done it.

Re: Random Thought Thread 2.0

i can tell you this much, i was always told they do it though voter registration, but im living proof thats not the case. i guess i can start voting now lol
