Dress up like a bawce and take her out to a nice dinner. I took my mom here (well, the one in PA) when I got my first real job and she cried at the table:
The Melting Pot of Kansas City - A Romantic, Fine Dining Fondue Restaurant in the Westport, Overland Park, Independence & Union Station Area - Welcome
1. Make reservation - tell them it's for Mother's day. Having a reservation makes you a classy mofo.
2. Wine - Chianti is a nice choice for all the different courses. I forget if you're 21 yet, but they assume if you can afford to drop $100+ on dinner, they don't need to card you (unless KC has something special) so do it anyway. This place will pour you a sip before filling the glasses. Swirl it, put your nose in the glass, and have a sip. Firmly nod to the waitress and she'll fill the glasses. Boss.
3. Salad - I recommend the California as it's bangin'. This is the only restaurant I order salad in.
4. Cheese fondue: Required. They're all good, but skip the mexican and keep it classy. Extra stuff to dip in it is free, so ask for it.
5. Meat: Optional. If you're not huge eaters, vegetarians, or short on time, easily skipped.
6. Dessert: Chocolate fondue is mandatory. Order some extra cheesecake with it, it's free or like $2. Spare no expense for mom. If you're out of wine by or before now, pinot noir is bangin' with chocolate.
7. Profit.
