Bill, what sort of work do you do anyway? I don't think I've ever asked that.

I miss my attic fan though. And at his house, its a 1 bedroom, have 21k btu in the living room and 5050btu in the bedroom. Just guessing I'd say its 68-72* in here. Feels great. :) And just to egg on Bill, the heat wave left here a bit. We're back in the low 90s high 80s range :D

I spend most of my day working in Excel and finance reporting systems. Basically I monitor expenses and create some cool stuff for people. Here's an example of a formula I wrote one day to grab data from a big messed up sheet and stuff it into a certain format.

Hey before you go calling people frail and girly and what not, *ahem*, keep in mind we just had the heat wave you're having now. We are strong people in this jiggaboo town :D

And cool beans, but I didn't understand a thing you said after formula, but I get what you're saying. Do you have a degree in finance or business or you just gifted sir?

Yes, BS in Business Admin. aka Accounting.

Those that work with it will see some stuff and say "cool" typically. Most of the people I work around don't understand anything beyond the workload got easier and was done fast. Dunno, I learned most MS stuff on my own, based on a need to do something at that time. I commonly Google stuff for Excel. Index is technically just a cooler version of Vlookup.

I'm the only person in my department that knows excel. Boss thinks I'm some kind of spreadsheet magician. "A pie chart! Nobody else did a pie chart! We should make this the new standard!" They really all just think it's a convenient grid-making program. :th_scratchhead:

Of course, I'm not in Acc/Fin/AP/whatever... just IT.

I used to write my own HTML script for Myspace back in the day when it was popular. After some research it was just easier to write it out than to try and use a "web page program" that writes it for you.
... but that has been many moons since Myspace was "the thing"

Man you guys must be made of money to have your heat and ac at such extreme temps. In the summer my ac is on 78 and in the winter my heat is on 62. I like saving money and can put up with the heat/ cold.

dont trust that stupid meat popper in the bird, use a thermometer to know when it's done, i do all the time, and im always taking it out before the popper goes pop.

who likes dry chicken????? not me.

yeah i do all the cooking around here, yes i do.
