Noice! Lol I always get dirty, regardless of what it is I'm doing... Even when I'm just wiping down the dash with some armor all, still manage to get some form of dirt on me. Lol
 


Nice pics Brandon. Can't wait to see it coming out the driver wheel well. At least I assume that's your path.

Thanks. Not this time though. That's as far as it's coming out. I'm just gonna side slap it. Only really needs the 4th hub, but I'm going to do some other things while I'm in there. No rebuild for this one.
 
Didn't get to do anything to the turd yesterday. Wife called to tell me the van died, so I spent the evening putting in a battery. I guess 116° day will kill an older battery pretty quickly. I did get back into it tonight though. Side cover came off without a fight. Pretty sure I found the problem...

Also found a broken/burned thrust washer (left). Now I would never put used parts in a new build, but here is a perfect example of why I hang on to good used parts. The one on the right came out of my stash.

Finally got the side cover back on. Took way longer than I wanted. It's been so hot the last couple of days, when I put the assembly lube on anything it just melted. It offered no help in holding anything together during assembly. Eventually, after a couple of prayers, a handful of breaks and a ton of attempts it all dropped into place. Patience paid off.

Thanks. I'm not really thrilled it's taken this long, but working 11 hour days doesn't leave me much garage time. At least the hardest part is over. Just a matter of wrestling the big pieces back into place.

I have no idea what to charge him... I mean, I'll do something like brakes or a fuel pump as a favor, but I should get paid for this, right?
 
Hey, when you're doing things that other folks can't even do... nobody is sweating how long it takes. But you. I know the feeling! Make it worth your while.
 


I would say think to yourself how much one hour of your time is worth, then go by how many hours you spent on it that you would rather have done something else. I'm sure it would still add up to much less than what he would have paid otherwise, and you're still getting paid.
