on a daytona truck my dad bought back in 2005 it had (example: 123 of 2000) on that sticker so you knew what number it was

I know it was a few pages back, but I must say Dino that keyboard is awesome!! mechanical keys FTW ... reminds me of the good ol' typewriter days hahaha

I bet you love it when somebody picks up your gun and makes a smaller group lol. Been on both sides o that coin.

Haven't had that happen yet. I usually out shoot everyone in our group. I suppose the fact that they're all new to shooting might have something to do with that though....

Last time we went, I put 5 shots within 2-1/2" at 15 yards standing out of a G27. Not exactly a target pistol, but I shoot that thing a LOT.

Now I'm not your typical idiot, but how bad is it if you dont drain a compressors tank of water? I just did mine for the first time in owning it for couple years and a good bit of water came out.

it can rot the compressor pumps and parts, and the tank.

you should drain it often.

the mechanic where i drove used to just leave the drain cracked all the time to let the moisture drain out. but we had a huge ass tank. always a puddle under it too.

Alright cool, looks like I'll drain it every month or so. Any harm in leaving air in the tank over prelonged periods of time?

not sure really. i just dump the air after each use with my friends compressor.

I know your supposed to drain them we always did at work anyway made sure to pull the pin let the air out after use

I've also thought about getting a water/oil separator too. Not sure if it would be worth the 20 bucks or not for what I use mine for.

pretty sure those just dry the air to the hose, not the tank. keeps your tools from having moisture in them, they also help for spray guns. last thing you want is water in your paint.

compressors make the condensation inside the tank.

I should have been more specific, I know that didn't know if it would be worth it too keep water out of my impact, rachet ect as i don't use them too often

Bingo. I've got a Dotco 1/4" right angle that's over a decade old. I can remember times when I'd have water dripping out the exhaust for hours on end. Couple drops of oil at the end of the day and it's still going strong.

As far as I'm concerned, the water just helps cool the tool. :cool:

I prefer to drain a compressor before startup for a work session. Leaving pressure in tank is fine. The tanks rust inside and explode by suprise one day. Keep it drained and oil tools daily. Two years is bad. FWIW house water heaters should be drained periodically to purge sediments. Bonus!
