• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Post Whoring - 5.5.1 - We have a turd in the punch bowl

Got a pretty good handle on the 60e. Guess it's time to master the 80e.

You know it's going to be a full on disaster when you need to fabricate a custom tool just to get the input drum out.

Front planet ring gear split and locked the 3-4 frictions in place. Good times!

we know that tranny was rode real hard dont we......

Oh 100%. The story I got was "I just got gas and went to pull away and it wouldn't move." I fully believe that story, but you left out the part where you beat the snot out of it for the last 10k miles. LOL The transmission does not lie!

i had a much older type back in the day. needed it for oil changes in my boat, there was no way to take the pan bolt off and drain it, even if you did get a pan under, you could not get it back up with out spilling oil all over the place.

New tool day!

I bought the same one last year to change oil in our Benz. 8.5 qts.

Now use it to do the boat, murano, lawn mower, rear differentials with no drain plug and to lazy to take off all the bolts....

Very useful! You will love.

Cannot get the skinny tube down a GM dipstick. 5.3 or 3.8???

Let me know if you figure out a way.

my old school vac pump had a larger line off the can, then it had a few nipples to drop to a thinner line, aka that fits down a dip stick tube.

you know now that i think about it. you just pushed the thinner line inside the larger one.

The Miri vac is the same. Larger line at the tank that transitions to a narrow one.

The narrow one fits down most dipstick tubes. Gets stuck/stopped 1/2 way down a GM tube.

I still haven't used my vac can. May be doing a trans service and shift kit this weekend. I just came here to show off my new toy.

Looks like the RT-700. That thing should cook like a beast and is well made. Good choice! Not cheap but well worth it.

You are correct! Couldn't agree more. Been cooking on a Traeger Jr. for a couple years now and I've been pretty happy with it. This thing is a HUGE leap forward in size, quality and technology. May be a little big for my current needs, but I plan to use it for many years to come.

You a pellet griller?

Not myself, but a friend picked one up last year and has been working on perfecting his skills. I will say his pulled pork is spot on and just falls apart by hand.

Got an awesome surprise at work today from a great friend!

He brought his new C8 Z51 up so I could check it out. This pic is after he got the tint and clear wrap done on it last week.

Got to put myself in the drivers seat for a bit to feel it out (not driving) and man this thing is way different than any other 'vette I've been in. Feels like a supercar. After that we took a short ride with me as passenger. All I can say is wow.... We left in auto mode on the trans and pulled 60+ in a blink. It felt like I was being shoved, lol..

On the way back he put it in manual mode. Has a nice subtle cackle to it on decal with the exhaust in "sport" mode". Ripped a pull from 2nd+ with the paddles and hit low 80's in a short stretch. That DCT 8 speed is badass. Still has to wait for 1500mi. to come up before he can go full out but most everything is unlocked at this point. We'll take it to the track next year when it warms up.

With all that has been going on lately here it was a really nice break and was able to get a stupid grin once again, lol...

The transmission side job is going strong. Buying shift kits in bulk! Don't let the economy determine your income. Get out there and hustle!
