Post Whoring - 5.5.1 - We have a turd in the punch bowl

Bought a new car!! 120k miles. Runs and drives (mostly). For sure needs a new battery and 4 new tires. Also makes a rotational clunking noise from left front at low speed. Have to get it in the air to see for sure what the problem is. Pretty decent shape overall. Not bad for $250.

LOL. Maybe someday. This one is getting put together for the mother in law to haul the grandkids around.

If that 3.4 motor ever pops though....

Should I buy? 2001 Yukon with 205k mile DBW 5.3 LM7, 4wd 4L60e combo for $1000.

I don't NEED another 5.3, but at that price I'm sure I could find a home for it. Maybe with a little Choo choo this time....?
 
That's just the Y pipe from the Yukon that I parted out. I donated it to the Yukon in the picture because it's throwing a cat code.

That thing is completely untouched.

I'm hoping my brother in law gets tired of it sitting there right about the time I finish the swap on the K10. I actually found that Yukon on Craigslist about two weeks after I found my Yukon. I would have jumped on it at the time, just didn't have an extra grand floating around for it after buying mine.

Sending your brother in law (who has automotive ADD) to buy a clapped out Yukon is like Hillbilly lay-a-way. LOL It'll be there if/when I want it.
