ported s/c case

thanks for all the help guys. i was also wondering how hard is it to install a zzp xp hot cam and headers? a guy near me wrecked his car and he has brand new pacesetter headers, a ported throttle body and the cam.

the headers are fairly simple, but time consuming and your hands will be all knicked up when you're done.

the throttle body you dont need.

the cam is a little bit more in depth and involved you diving fairly far into the motor, unless you're familiar with how it all works. knowing that, have you been down to the heads before?

I never really did anything like that to my car. Im just starting to get into this kind of stuff. Im basically a amateur when it comes to stuff like this.

I have a zzp 3" 304 catback exhaust, cold air induction system and a 180 thermometer. My friend has a buick regal with the same engine and he said its too hard to put in the headers and cam by yourself. Hes going to lincoln tech to be a mechanic so he would probably be the only person who could help me out.

The link in your sig doesnt discuss proper gasket surface prep or the importance of cleanliness when working on your motor.

I never went to school for it...and I've done it.

Not really that hard, just time consuming...you don't even have to pull the motor...you can swap the cam through the passenger side wheel well.

you can rock the engine forward then use wheel chocks to hold it in place.

If they're SD's just remove the trans dipstick, it'll drop right in.

a friend of mine is gonna help me with this after the new year. hopefully we can get it done and it wont be too hard. thanks for all the help. finally i have a christmas party to go to this weekend and my girlfriends ex is going to be there. he drives a cobalt ss 2006. he hasnt done anything to it. if we raced who would win?

Random.

If you know how to drive you'll have him until about 70 or so...I'd bet he'd pull you after that...those cars aren't too slouchy stock for stock, especially if he ain't a nub.

I know that you guys said not to get the ported throttle body but here are some pictures. Is it any good? Idk what the yellow stuff is.

So the throttle body is good then? And a bit off topic is there anyway to upload more pics. I keep hitting the limit and idk how to add more
