Ported LIM & Ported SC vs Stock - GEN 3 gains?

Motor swap has begun, hopefully a new thread and some pics as I progress through it. I am thinking of getting a WBS Ported Gen III SC & Ported LIM instead of using my stock stuff. Once the car gets fired back up again, mods will be as follows:

Intake
SD Headers
1.84 YT Rockers
Hopefully once tuned a 3.4 at least

Would I see any benefit from going with the ported stuff aside from a hellacious blower whine?

You would be better off convincing me to sell you the Gen V/Lim sitting on my dead motor for a good price. Overall, you'd come out ahead on benefit for cost.

PM'd, convince me :)

Plus even if I don't get a huge seat of the pants win just from the parts, will temps be reduced enough to come down to a 3.3 or something?

I did a little bit of SC porting with an die grinder and bit. I have no idea how some get so neat with the port job... the grinder wants to fly all over the place when putting pressure on it. Plus the WBS ported sc, comes with a ported LIM (which I would have no chance in doing). Gen V setups (complete with adapter) fetch a good buck still. At best I see this car doing low-mid 13's eventually

for me:
CAI
headers
tune
3.4

i was getting 6-7 psi and topped the car at 139
after porting the bottom and cleaning the SC and TB im getting 10-12 psi and pulling 145 (i just want a buck 50 lol)

I thought porting would make you move more air at a lower psi but same power through increased efficiency? Unless u got suspension and brakes no Gp should even entertain those speeds

you are correct because you know slightly how thermodynamics work.

he is incorrect and spewing laughter.

This is full of pretty much nothing worthwhile.

So you INCREASED outlet flow.

But you also INCREASED your boost levels with the same pulley size.

This is uber awesome, tell me how you defied the universe.

why are you porting your LIM? I mean sure less metal=less heat but unless youre going to IC you dont NEED to do that.... jw is all...

Thought less heat = less KR = smaller pulley in theory. I am hoping to get 1.84 YT's, SD headers, Intake & Tune to use a 3.3 - I think it will be close, just wondering if a ported LIM and SC will help me get there?

SC yes but there wont be enough of a difference in the LIM. If you are doing it yourself, sure I would do it for the hell of it but Im just saying you would waste your money buying a ported LIM without the intention of going IC (unless you mean actually port matching it to the heads and not just cutting the top)...

What part of the LIM do you intend to port?

The runners could be gasket matched, but they should only be matched to your heads.

L36s could benefit from this without touching the heads as the casting was too small from the factory.

The top of the LIM wont matter because the blower outlet is already matched to the LIM inlet.

So the stock L67 LIM is already big enough even if you port the stock L67 M90? Aside from the runners?
