Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

only on GPF.......OP seriously stop looking over at a person smashing the gas and pullin away and coming on here wasting peoples time by saying you "killed" them.....big bag of BS.

also i will say this, he did have his girlfriend in the car and maybe she freaked out or something but regardless i whooped him and i rode out the gears in tap shift mode damn close to the red line from 2nd gear through 4th

This does not make sense! Sorry friend your first post said you guys got up to 100...you would just be starting into the meat of 3rd gear at 100. I own a GXP and I wouldn't go up against a modded WS6 without my bottle.

My mods when I got my new transmission and gears were: K&N CAI, ported LS4 intake, TBS and a magnaflow catback. Between the shift kit and the 3.29s it felt like a different car. The car was shifting out of 2nd at 78 instead of 90, it became so easy to stay in the power band. It cost me around 2 mpg around town prob because the car became so much fun to drive! :D
Nice mod list! didn't your car come with 3.29s?

yea it did. i was just sayin cuz i drove a gxp right when they came out and the gears were horried and you could tell. i bet its a whole new animal for ya.

I don't know what GM was thinking when they put that gear package in the GXP. 2nd gear was a complete joke, it stayed in 2nd so long you would begin to wonder if something was broken.

for those of you from michigan you'll know the roads, i was on I-275 just south of I-696 and i came across a WS-6 TA so i kick it down to second at a 65 roll and killed him, slowed down at once i hit 100 and he got next to me again so we went again and got him again we slowed down and he was about a length ahead and rev'd it so we went at it a 3rd time giving him that head start and spanked him again. he looked so pissed, and i know he was moded, exhaust for sure and some work under the hood, had gauges up the pillar and it sounded really mean when he hit it, so far i am really impressed with the gxp's performance being bone stock cant wait to see how much better it runs with some mods when i get the$$$

lets not forget here that hp sells cars and torque wins races, my guess is that he was over cammed and had to much power drop off on the low end because he got me from the get but i pulled out ahead when the r's got higher

also i will say this, he did have his girlfriend in the car and maybe she freaked out or something but regardless i whooped him and i rode out the gears in tap shift mode damn close to the red line from 2nd gear through 4th

if you want to discount the story then have the knowledge to do so... to much cam will do exactly that--- you lose power on the top end gives you great launch and 2k-3500or so power but once you climb above that your power curve drops drastically keep in mind here i stated that we went from a 65mph start speed, i never said that if we started from a light i would still beat him, im simply telling the story of what happened and putting up thoughts as to how i beat him, and as for the year as i saw questioned by someone else it was 00 or so which stock is only about a half second faster on the 1/4 mile times so if you look at the facts its not that hard to believe, and had we been at a light and went from dead stop im sure he would have beaten me but we didnt so there ya have it... GXP win WS-6 lost

well when you look at it like this... throw a cam with a huge lift but dont change anything else on the engine itself like increasing compression or larger fuel injectors to match the increased lift on the valves you end up with the same amount of fuel going in and more air meaning you run lean and lose power at WOT, this was explained to me by my uncle who is an engineer and has designed performance engines for about 20 years now

Where is said torque loss? I don't see any that would cause even a close loss to a stock GXP. This is my old Cammed 98 Formula. Same LS1 as WS6 with cam and bolt-ons. hell this was with a 98 LS1 intake with is the ****tiest flowing intake they made for LS1's. Even had the stock lid at the time.

And what's ur uncle design? Weed wacker engines????
