Well a stock WS6 has what, 330BHP? And you have 303BHP, so it isn't a huge disparity, but I do doubt his car was a modified WS6, for said story to be true. The masses are similar, but even then, I don't know.

lets not forget here that hp sells cars and torque wins races, my guess is that he was over cammed and had to much power drop off on the low end because he got me from the get but i pulled out ahead when the r's got higher

also i will say this, he did have his girlfriend in the car and maybe she freaked out or something but regardless i whooped him and i rode out the gears in tap shift mode damn close to the red line from 2nd gear through 4th

the year of the ws6 was never mentioned was it? I would think an early 3rd gen would be beaten by a GXP.

So now it was a cammed ws6?? To much cam.. lol

Its a LS1, With a lid and a cat back you couldnt keep up on your best day.

OK, this is getting ridiculous.

If that is the case...

Most cammed LS1's dyno well over 360-380 RWTQ...EASILY...on a crappy day...so...since your making around 100 TQ less than that to the wheels...did you just disprove your own theory numerically?

he was over cammed and had to much power drop off on the low end
he got me from the get

Seriously...that makes no sense...read that back to yourself...and if it DOES make since...well...then...guess I'll have to post this again...

if you want to discount the story then have the knowledge to do so... to much cam will do exactly that--- you lose power on the top end gives you great launch and 2k-3500or so power but once you climb above that your power curve drops drastically keep in mind here i stated that we went from a 65mph start speed, i never said that if we started from a light i would still beat him, im simply telling the story of what happened and putting up thoughts as to how i beat him, and as for the year as i saw questioned by someone else it was 00 or so which stock is only about a half second faster on the 1/4 mile times so if you look at the facts its not that hard to believe, and had we been at a light and went from dead stop im sure he would have beaten me but we didnt so there ya have it... GXP win WS-6 lost

well im not one to fight on the net as i've said in my mustang kill post so believe what you will, you are entitled to it after all

this ^ i can respect :) now go get one of them nifty little dash cams and we wont ever have this problem again, in fact everyone go get one

I personally have never heard of an aftermarket cam causing loss of power on the top end for a performance oriented car. Most aftermarket cams raise the powerband up into the higher revs, not lower it.

Now for economy based cars, like a Geo Metro, YES, there are cams out there that will LOWER the powerband down into the lower revs for economy purposes. In fact, I have an eco cam on my Geo. It's just that I've never seen something like that for an LSx...

well when you look at it like this... throw a cam with a huge lift but dont change anything else on the engine itself like increasing compression or larger fuel injectors to match the increased lift on the valves you end up with the same amount of fuel going in and more air meaning you run lean and lose power at WOT, this was explained to me by my uncle who is an engineer and has designed performance engines for about 20 years now

An 00ish you say? Then something must have been of on the ws6. maybe he's running water instead of oil.

This thread Fails. A cammed Ws6 is a low 12 sec to 11 sec car. End of story. Even with a small cam! He was probobly just ghosting you and chuckling lol
