Polys: Leave em in or take em out?

I've got poly motor mounts right now, honestly I can't stand the vibration, I've been putting my car in neutral at stoplights because it gets so bad. It's winter right now, so I'm not gunna be doing any off the line racing for awhile anyway, so I'm thinking of swapping the poly's out for the stockers at least for the winter. What are the pros/cons of keeping the polys in anyway? Someone told me to leave em in because it's better for the transmission? Thanks.

my friends got poly mounts, his car doesn't vibrate at all...

* When I get my jack in a bit, I'm going to be changing my lowers to solid, and upper to poly.

I had an XP Cam with solid lowers...and I DD'd that car...it was perfect. I say suck it up Virginia.

I have poly upper and lower dog bone mounts...with solid motor/transmission mounts...with no balance shaft in this motor...and the cam that is going in...its gonna be fun. If you want spongy, junk mounts...then just put the stockers back in.

Maybe something else is ****ed up then, cuz mine vibrates like a *****, I'll take a video later if I remember.

sounds like you have more of a rough idle issue then anything, as even with solids if your engines running right you should have much for vibration. I've had polys in a bunch of cars and its definetly noticable but never annoying. With you just havin poly dogbones there has to be another issue. If you had all poly mounts then its understandable

Yeah. Only thing I can think of right now is my hydraulic engine mount was completely ****ed, like when we took it out it had completely collapsed and it was pissing crap everywhere, and someone told me that driving it around like that for awhile could've ****ed up the poly dogbones?

i highly doubt that...Polys aren't like a hydraulic, the only way they could really go bad is if you bent the dog bones or the poly was torn or something

I know I was saying maybe the engine being so low from driving so long on the collapsed mount maybe screwed up the dogbones?

i have a full poly setup, and ive never had a vibration issue. even at idle. seems like most people dont, its just they never post things saying it doesnt vibrate, so you just hear about the ones that do have issues

So what are you using for lower motor mount? You sure its not your downpipe causing the vibrations?
