• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Polo Green GTP Comp Gee Pree

After my dad has his '98 GT for several years followed by a 07 base, I wanted a decent GP of my own.
Picked this up last fall from someone selling on here. Drove a few hours to get it, and on the way in Madison saw a black 04+ with roof rails, shocked the hell outta me seeing that randomly, anyone know if it's someone here? Anyways, brought it home, got LIM gaskets done at a shop (I haven't done much mechanical before) since it was seeming to burning all the coolant, but since has burned oil. About 1 quart every 300 miles. Going back in tomorrow to hopefully get it fixed for good.

Currently:
Intake
HD lip
SPO grilles (previous owner put em on)

Pictures taken today (besides interior pic)

Yeah, thats the place I'm taking it back to. It's where my dad always takes his vehicles so i thought it'd be the place to go. It doesnt smoke out of the back until its warmed up, so maybe thats why they never noticed.

They should have noticed something was up right away. I like to drive the car around for a little bit after I do motor work on them.

man thats a big future mod list...i dont like the tan leather makes me appreciate my black leather haha

Honestly green was the last color I wanted, but it has grown on me. The tan doesn't look as nice on the inside (and I have to wipe the door every now and then or it gets disgusting) but the seats don't burn me on hot days, and neither does the door panel, unlike my dads black interior. That's killer.

Talked to a guy about shipping me some roof rails last night.

Just picked up the car this morning. They put a more powerful additive in the oil than last time to see if that would fix my problem with the burning oil. But after a 5 minute drive home, it was smoking as usual. Going to take it on a 50 mile drive after work, see if it continues.
Anyone have any options if this doesnt?

Tell them to fix what they fvcked up. You should be able to run whatever oil you were using before with no problems.

On the HD lip what exactly is that stuff called? I know you can get it at home depot but there are none of those close to me so I will have to try to find it at Menards or something.

Yea I don't know about the whole additive thing. Sounds more of a bandage then anything, I'd find the source to your real problem, and tell em to fix it.

i dont remember exactly which it was, i picked it up several months ago. just look up the threads for it, its the one everyone uses.

And we are pretty sure now that its a scored cylinder.

If the site I found is correct, only 2004 got the green.
I have one also, but with the twisted 5 spoke chrome rims and black interior.

Well I had the car fixed and I sold it to a friend about a week ago. To replace it, I picked up this 2009 Cobalt SS/TC. It's 1/200 or so white coupes for the year, and has a black red interior. And I couldn't be happier switching to the balt. Far more power, built in sub, better on gas, 5 speed, 2 door, RPD acts as boost guage digital speedometer etc, gets a lot more looks.
