Man...this car is driving me crazy! Got the codes read on my car and it was saying MAF sensor-Evap Purge solenoid and Both o2 sensors....so i went to buy a brand new MAF sensor and put it on...went to advanced auto and got the codes erased & the service engine light came back on...got the codes read again and the o2 sensors went away..but the evap & MAF sensor code says pending..so do i need to drive the car a certain amount of miles before it registers the new piece???
 


Hmmm...so why would the MAF sensor code come up as "Pending" if i jus put a brand new one in today? Do i have to drive a certain amount of miles before the computer registers the new part? Im lost...
 
It might not have been the problem. A bad map sensor could also trip the maf code and 02 sensor codes find the step by step diagnostics for your codes and go threw them instead of throwing parts at the car.
 


Mine and my grandma's threw the maf code when the gas cap wasn't tight so i figured start there it's free lol
 
Could be a bad purge canister thats sitting on the back of the blower...it made my Mom's LeSabre go all crazy
 
Ok...i also read on here in other threads...that a dudes car was throwing a P0102 & P0443 code and it was a bad fuse....cuz the MAF and EVAP or on the same fuse...i think he said like mini fuse 21 underhood and it should be a 15A...so i checked and the fuse was blown..so i swapped it out with a new one...turned the car on and it bounced a lil bit and normaled out..so i was thinking maybe i need to reset the codes for it to register all the way..so i jus unplugged the negative wire to the battery..waiting to hook it back up..hope this helps!!! I believe he had a 2000 GP GT supercharger...would our underhood fusebox be situated the same?
 
just unhook both pos and neg and touch them together for a few seconds then hook it back up and you should be good to go.
 


well i did the neg & pos wire tocuh...and the service engine light is still on...but the car seems to be acting rite...smh..what should i do?
 
scan it and see what the code is. Was it on right away or did it come on after the car was running for a little bit?
 
I got unhooked the wires...touched them for a few seconds..plugged them back up..and started the car...and the light was on, like it neva went off...and now my mpg is horrible..its at like 9.9mpg and it was at like 15..which is still bad..im wondering if i even did it rite! And the codes that are coming up are P0102 & P0443(MAF and EVAP purge solenoid)
 


Thats wasup 99grandprixgt!!! well..do u know anything about the codes come up as "pending, after i put the new MAF sensor??smh..cuz at 1st...when the bad MAF was in..it was throwing a P0102, P0443 and two more codes..that were the o2 sensors(bank 1 & bank 2)..then i put the new one in and the o2 sensor codes went away..but the P0102 & P0443 are saying "pending" wth is wrong with this car?? lol...
 
ok..my bad for the last post...didnt know u erased his post..i thought u were taking his side...just be fair is all i ask..he started this..so u should have been directing the comment towards him..not me...thats all..i even told him..i didnt have no problems with him...wth
