Here are pictures of the label on my truck and door. I need to figure out which one is the paint code. Some dickhead backed into my new GP (new to me, got it 3 weeks ago)and chipped the paint. so pissed. :(

its U9753...duplicolors paint match DOES NOT MATCH IT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

just get another trim piece.

Their paint match looks like a very dull vanilla, whether it be the pen or the spray can

Here's the official paint codes for 97-03 Grand Prix. (Grabbed the chart off of AllData Pro)

Thanks. I was going to use Automotivetouchup.com Touch Up Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint and Touchup Paint Accessories | AutomotiveTouchup | 888-710-5192 and get the 9753 and clear coat, would that work?

Honestly, if I were you, I would take it to a body shop and have it done professionally.

How much is that? Don't want to spend over few hundred.

your going to need some filler for those chips, maybe best to take the moldings off and work on them, and do a full re paint on them.

was this a hit and run deal? thats a lot of chips and scratches.

this is what the tool who parked next to my mothers car did, door dinged the whole car, literally bumper to bumper, cost $850.00 to fill all the nicks, and dents, and repaint the whole side of the car. the plastic trim was nicked, the door handles, the mirror, and the doors. this guy was a pro at not giving a crap about the car next to him at all.

Damn that sucks! Yea I work at a bar, some drunk dickhead hit my car and took off well I was inside working. I was thinking about sanding the trim and doing a re-paint like you said, but well the trim is still on the car. I was going to mask it up and everything. That should do the trick right?

You would have to call around and ask pricing.

If it ends up around $800 like scottydoggs's mom car, then I am going to have to do it myself. :/

its always cheaper if take parts off the car, drop them off to be painted also. a while back, (10 years ago) i dropped off a whole grill for my 97 GMC Truck, (used, wrong color) and had the lower door sills painted for 75 bucks. ( for 3 colors) they had the grill for 3 days, and the truck for 1/2 a day, took my grill and truck home swapped the new grill in. then i put diamond plate door sill protectors in.

you just need to shop around for time lines and prices. and whats best for you, as in can you loose the car for a week or not?

take the moldings off, drop them off, and you still have your car.

or take them off and give it a shot yourself.

I have no idea how to remove them or re-install them. :( How do I do it?

im not 100% sure, but if you take the inside door skin off, roll the window up, and you should see clips coming through the outer door skin.

if they dont just un clip but are some kind of solid clip that has to be cut off, you can glue the molding back on with trim adhesive or tape.

something like that will be a lot easy to work on off the car. you have a lot of sanding to do after filling and painting, and clearing them.

this whole deal could take 3 days to finish with dry times. and the time you have to put into it, after work, weekends.
