People who should know better

If you park your car in someone else's driveway, knowing full well that person has a towing contract, do you not assume the risk of having your car towed?

*insert yes answer here*

Then, why would a person who does this have the audacity to pound on my door at 7:30 a.m. when his car gets towed?

Is it because

  1. they are retarded
  2. they feel the need to complain about something that was entirely their own fault
  3. think that you are the evil and want to see if you will stab them in the head for destroying your slumber
  4. all of the above

You decide.

(Background, in case you're wondering, for those who are not familiar with my property drama, is I've owned this end unit townhouse for about 7 years. I have had a towing contract in force since that date because people decide to park their cars wherever, including my lawn and my two private spaces. The one next door to me has a teenage son who likes to have parties while mom is away, so the next thing you know, you've got 4 full size cars and one SUV trying to squeeze in our combined 4 spaces, 2 each privately, leaving me with no place to park at all, since there is no on street parking, which why would I park on the street anyway. Everytime I've asked them to move, they cop attitude, so I decided to stop asking and just start towing. This morning at 4:13 one of their cars was towed so I could park. I can only imagine what he told his mom about where her car is. That kid pounded on my door from 7:30 until 9 a.m.)

And what sort of repercussions do you suspect I will face when I get home?

LOL that is funny. I would do the same thing if I was in your shoes. BTW if at all possible make sure you tow the parents cars and leave the kids car. That will get his parents wondering what the heck is going on here.

4, If you do get repurcussions let us know, especially if it is on your car. I have been wanting to go on a roadtrip through NC, since I moved away. haha

Just imagin if some asshole parked their heavyly modded gtp in ur driveway what would go through ur mind people ? I kno what i would be doing lol.

Well, although there are exceptions, most gp owners are cool and would probably ask before doing so and then offer you a beer, soda, or water. Insert your poison there. hahah

I have no trespassing/private property signs up all over the place. This particular household I have told on numerous occasions that I have a towing contract. You would think that would be the end of it, especially after asking them nicely and getting nothing but attitude about it.

I wish some heavily modded GTP would park there. At least one with better tires that would fit on mine.

Keep us informed. Might want to invest in a night vision camera and a dvr . I live in a pretty good area and have not needed to "use" mine but its a pieace of mind knowing if my cars get messed with i have them on tape.

Second the idea of keeping the camera rolling. People that cop attitude when you ask nicely are the exact same people that will key a car or flatten the tires when they get towed.

well i guess there is only so much you can do with retards so you just have to draw a picture with crayon.

I go through this every day---
I run a 50 unit apartment building ..
50 Units
50 Parking spaces
No Visitor parking....
Every one gets told this when they move in and everyone gets
there own parking spots..
we have some that do not have cars but it is still there spot

Others ppl come into our parking lot from next door
Then we have those that think they can just take the spots because they are empty...

I have better things to do with my time then to chase after cars
thats my dogs thing...
I tow

I get calls at 2:30 4:00 am someone is in my spot....
I have to get up move my car so they can park theres so they have a place to park till i fig out who the hell this car belongs to ....

It is bad anough that you get calls after closeing time to
let someone in that lost there keys----> that they are holding in there hand.

TOWED

Tonight was amazingly quiet. Suspiciously even. Glad I'm DJing tomorrow night!

The cam/DVR could be a good thing. There's an owner across the street that had the same problem and are doing that now. I talked to him, and he said his system was only a couple hundred bucks. That's not bad. His wife and I are good friends and she says she's amazed the things they've managed to record. I didn't ask what, but I can imagine. So that's a maybe.

I feel like the beating on my door this morning was simply an attempt to intimidate me. As if...Puh-lease. I've seen more game in psychological whackjob warfare than I care to confess to in this lifetime, so they are going to have to better than that.

But thanks for backing me guys. I almost was secondguessing on the tow, but I guess that was right the decision. Maybe it will only take once. We shall see.

isn it a law that if you have a towing clause....you have to have it posted who actually tows the vehicle? that way they have to call them instead of pounding on your door to see where it was towed? also this will rid off(most of) the people that park in your spots.

eitherway if they didnt learn this time and do it again.....they are just asking for it.

We have it in our lease here
as well as signs posted No Vistor Parking
tenant parking only.. and at least 38 of the 50
Will try and get away with - - - - every month...
and the storys that go with the job are just
incredable lol
Nope save your self the hassle and have it towed...
Call the cops give them the plate number-->
They will check it and then call the Tow truck....
and watch how fast they come out to move their car...
