The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
I used a standard combination wrench when I put mine back in during my header install. Some O2 sensor bungs have a protector ring welded in place around them. Ours don't. That's the only reason I can see needing the special socket. Only if you can not physically get a wrench around it.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in. Just going on my experience.
I'm putting 2 o2 extenders on for my hi flo zzp stainless 3 inch catted dp. I got a code sayin the downstream was burnt right after i put on my hi flo magnflow dp. Hope the o2 still works after putting the o2 extensions on!
Sure, you can get it with a wrench. IIRC it's a 7/8's. Might do better if you have a short wrench. I replaced the one on my 00GT with just a wrench. Best chance of getting it out is to soak it w/ PB Blaster for a day or 2 then try and remove it while the manifold is still slightly warm (assuming you are talking about the upstream 02 sensor).
In my experience, having the correct closed end wrench is the best way to remove them. Of course you remove them when replacing, so I cut the end off to slip the closed end over it.
