Re: What Is The Best Resonably Priced O2 Sensors and Catalytic Converters

Denso sensors are the best stock replacements in my eyes, I wouldn't run a walker o2 sensor.

As for the cat I can't say, the walker cat might be perfectly fine or it might go bad shortly after install, but who knows.

Re: What Is The Best Resonably Priced O2 Sensors and Catalytic Converters

Walker and denso o2 if staying stock or just get a high flow cat with a downpipe from zzp for cheaper.

Re: What Is The Best Resonably Priced O2 Sensors and Catalytic Converters

Cant go with the ZZP one. It throws out codes due to being high flow. The closest speed shop wants $400 to tune out the codes since they are the only one close to where I live.

I dont really care everything being stock. I just want parts that last long and are reasonably priced.

Take a spark plug non fouler 42002 i think the part number is. Drill a 1/2 threw one then take your o2 sensor and put it in that one and then take that and screw it into the other, then just put it in the bung. No codes.

Like so

^ bingo... Worked for me for awhile until I had the codes tuned out. Grab a downpipe with hi flo cat from ZZP install it yourself.. Then if you get the p0420 code throw in a spark plug fouler and enjoy the added performance.

Re: What Is The Best Resonably Priced O2 Sensors and Catalytic Converters

Clearly he doesnt want to go that route yet you people always come back and recommend this crap. The zzp converter will toss a code and he doesnt want that, and he doesnt want to have to take another step to maybe solve the problem.

Re: What Is The Best Resonably Priced O2 Sensors and Catalytic Converters

Are you mad? I gave him another option because i wouldnt run the walker **** i sell because within 2 years it will have to be replaced again. And that goes for any aftermarket exhaust your going to buy in a store. Why not pay less and get something that is made out of decent material and not worry about it again with an extra step that takes maby a minute and $5. He apparently didnt know his options. If he just wants to keep it completly stock cool. But he didnt say that, he said he didnt care if it was stock but obviously looked into a zzp pipe and a tune for it so he wasnt aware you can take care of the code for $5.

Re: UPDATE: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

your cars not new. it will blend in with all the other non compliant cats on the road today. they cant make you change your cat. like the whole state take your car and get this new BS. not happening. if you read the fine print i bet your cars exempt due to age.

Re: UPDATE: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

you know you can delete codes, plenty of tuners here in the north east who could do it for you.

Re: UPDATE: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

I am not worried about the codes. Its not a high flow version. Its a stock direct replacement. Its only when I get inspection next year if the look at the catalytic converter and they see its aftermarket.

The code will be removed when the o2 sensors and new cat is installed. Its just the physical details.

I meant with the hi-flow cat and ZZP downpipe. I live in NY and passed inspection at a very reputable shop, they had my car on the lift and everything was thoroughly gone over, I had headers, hi-flow cat, NIC cam among other things. You are being way too paranoid about this stuff, its not like a cop is going to pull you over and say "OMG its not Cali Carb spec, get out of the car you are going to jail." or the guys doing the inspection are going to call the DMV and you get blacklisted because OMG its not Cali Carb spec, seriously they get to charge $20 for the 30+ minutes of inspection work NYS wants them to do; have you seen some of the cars on the road?

Re: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

why not get the Bosal Cat? It's higher quality and better flow. I had it on my 97 then sold it to get a catless dp which I now have on my 06

Re: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

Or.. you could crawl under the car and remove 4 bolts, swap this yourself and then since they will see a cat, they'll be happy.

Re: UPDATE: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

Just go get the code deleted. It would be dumb to not get a dp or install the walker on yourself. And get the code tuned out

Re: UPDATE: Need To Change My Oxygen Sensors And Catalytic Converter

If they don't do a sniffer but check for a cat why not remove the DP and have a shop weld in the one you took back. Just say its for off road use or some crap like that, or grab a catted DP and install it yourself?

Or just depending how far you are go to another state, have another shop in a neighboring state do the work.

Just my thoughts/ideas to help
