Oil Pressure Sensor

confused

New member
I am new to this and need some help figuring out where the oil pressure sensor is on my 06 grand prix gxp. I am trying to replace the oil pressure sensor and am unable to locate it on my motor. Not sure if the parts store gave me the wrong part and that's why I cant find the part that looks like the new one or what. Can someone help please?!?!

If they haven't moved it, you should find this on the side of the oil filter adapter. Just look near the filter and see if there is a sensor screwed into the side of it.

And if it's the oil level sensor, it's on the oil pan facing forward towards the radiator. Left of the starter.

Here's a pic of it's location up on the oil filter neck.

Thanks for all the help guys. The parts store actually gave me the wrong part, because apparently giving the part that they can order rather than get the part that's in stock is a good idea. They are idiots. We figured out before we actually got the new part where it was. so... HOPEFULLY this stops the problem and no more check engine light.

This is an aftermarket sending unit...but the factory one is in the same spot

what is the best way to replace the factory sensor with an aftermarket like the one you have here? i am about to do the same thing. should i just jack it up? will i have enough room by just doing that?
