Oil Pressure Gauge...

yea that would piss me off too. for me its not the price its being around cars trucks dragraces and tractor pulls autometer is the name ive always known an know i can trust 99% of the time. not everyones perfect an things break but 9 times out of 10 u dont hear anything bad about autometer gauges

Got a question. WTF is up with my electric oil pressure gauge. i hooked it up friday an it seemed to work fine an yesterday it seemed to work fine. at idle it held about 48 psi and under normal load it read about 55 psi. well today i decided to open her up an do my first wot run after the completion of my rebuild. well a strange thing happened the oil pressure needle burried itself the wrong way it went left below 0 an when i let off it came back up to 50 psi and under load back up to 55 so then i thought it was weird an decided to try it again and hit it it did the same thing but stayed there? its stuck i think. Any ideas? i checked all my wiring an its all right so i dono. looking for suggestions.

Sender is probably bad. I've been running an autometer oil pressure gauge for many years. I had a sender go bad about a year and a half ago. It buried at 0 and stayed there. I think I paid $15 for a new one.

If yours is new Autometer should cover it as long as you have proof of purchase...

Ok thanks alot! I couldnt believe it screwed up that quick. should i just take it back where i got it or send it to autometer?

contact the place that you got it from and see if they can get you a new one. If they cant, then go to autometer.

nvm i found the problem. i checked everything today to make sure everything was right. turns out the nut on the sender somehow backed itself off and fell off somewhere so the wire slid off the post causing the gauge to not recieve any info. alls good now though. i put a new nut on an made sure it was extra tight this time.
