what brand of filters do you all use? do you use the stock height ones or the longer ones from trucks?

About 3-4 years ago, there was a rumor about FRAM filters having poor pressure relief valves. That's how I ended up with my GP...it blew the case of a FRAM LOL Since that fiasco though, I haven't heard anything bad.

yeah i see a lot of advertising lately about how there filters use metal not cardboard, it seems like there quality has improved

I think that's their method of trying to bring back the name. Factory filter works fine. I'm good about my oil changes, so I can't justify anything other than what is required.

But they're of cheaper quality than the fram that blew on you.

Use fram synthetic/extra guard or KN/mobil1 or royal purple (apparently the filters are good, never looked into it myself), or amsoil.

any of those with brand name synthetic and you should be set.

I didn't blow it. I bought her out of a junkyard with the problem. Too bad the previous owner ran it until there was a LOUD knocking noise. LOL

im not looking for more "proformance" of anything like that lol just making a good conversation

and theres no point in running a full synthetic oil on my car it has 173k miles on it and im sure that no one put that in it before i owned it so High Millage oil is my best bet
