OFFICIAL: Pontiac is Dead as of now.

So i guess out of all of this i get some hope cause the only talks of selling brands deals with Hummer, Saturn and SAAB BUT Pontiac has not been mentioned just to be phased out so maybe sometime down the road they will revive it .... fingers crossed
 


:th_shakinghead2:im officially going to order a boycott GM license plate now. i am officially done with them. instead of filing bankruptcy and voiding the union contracts and getting inline this way, they opted to taked our tax dollars and are now being ran by the .GOV. They have no idea what they are doing and unfortunately the UNION helped get this President elected, so he HAS to protect the union. For anyone who isnt old enough to realize what is going on, its called socialism. If we don't get the .GOV out of our workplaces they will continue to do what they feel is needed for us. oh and F U GM!!!
 
It is a sad day, but at least they brought back the Camaro this year I cant wait for the Supercharged LS7 ones to comeout. Anyhow dude was right we all own a piece of history, and im for sure not gonna sell mine anytime soon.

Its called 30+ years of mismanagement by GM and you know why they cut pontiac even though they sold a substantial amount is because of the system they use to get cars to dealers instead of ford and other companies ways where dealerships order how much they want and what kind to meet there needs GM has been for years and years just making cars to flood dealerships because that was the contractual deal between the UAW and GM the UAW wanted to have a specific number of cars that had to be made so they would be guaranteed money but in reality it leaves over to much stock
Now Holden has to deal with a multi billion dollar plant they just built (not sure on exact money for that plant) just meant for g8s and now they are losing it maybe a year after its mismanagement by GM not the government the only reason the government is stepping in is because its the only shot at saving this if bankruptcy were to occur many more jobs would have been lost and cutbacks would of been even more monstrous take it from a Detroit native that has been hearing the on going debate about this way before the rest of the nation finally started paying attention
 


Doesnt the Holden plant also make; the Lumina SS for South Africa, a Buick version for China/ India , and i think there was another version to.
 
Just call the G8 a Chevy and be done with it. Pontiac really has nothing besides the G8 at this point, everything else is duplicated elsewhere.

Get rid of all the managment in GM and start fresh..... kids out of college. I could draw stick figures better than their cars.....
 


well even is pontiac is some rebadge jobs they sell alot i mean alot of pontiacs so yes very bad move
 


honestly, i say lose the pontiac. there are and will be plenty of other cars built well and will have the sleek lines many of pontiacs have. When I get out of college I plan on buying another fbody. Honestly, there wasn't ALL that many cars i really liked that pontiac had going. I liked the grand prixs and the GTO they came out with. And if all else fails and we lose gm, chrysler, and ford. I'll get a bike. the yamaha r1's catch my eye:th_biggrin2: And another thing, just because pontiac is done now doesn't mean they won't come back. They may find out that there is a bigger demand for pontiacs than what they originally predicted. This is all the case if we don't all come down with the swine flu. :th_sick1:
 
i could be right or i could be wrong. i think the "pig flu" is gonna end up being mild. the news is causin' all kinds of hype. There wouldn't even be a flu if gm decided to keep pontiac. GM CAUSED THIS!!!
