you only say so cause your mad that GM ditched Pontiac, and released Saturn because its doing well enough to be its Own brand, their new cars are quality and the Sky Redline is their Flag Ship (dont know if it STILL is or not) roadster and its a pretty quick car raced one, not fun. Now do some deep healing breaths, sing "I feel Pretty" a few times and let it go, move on and buy a Mustang :)

Saying stuff like that is why you need to buy a Mustang.

LoL, i know i should have, i wanted to, but when i was in the market for a new car the 05's just rolled out and you never guy a first year production car when its a new body/parts so i didnt get it, and secretly you want a mustang, you dream about it, that old movie Bullet you know u want it lol, its ok we are all friends here we dont judge, yeah i know im gonna get ripped about cause i bleed ford and NYR Blue, but i love my GP! so Back Off lol :)

I have a friend with a Mustang, and even he says it's pretty bad that the 2009 Mustang GT, and possibly the 2010, is rated at 315. Save a few bucks, get much better gas mileage, and probably save some on insurance and get a V6 Camaro with 300 HP.

Yes, you CAN still have pretty good power and decent gas mileage, and a sporty package to boot.

Wow, this topic has drifted a bit...

i'll own a Honda Civic before I get a mustang.
never will i buy a mustang, go kill urself 2 X's !!!

Hahahahahhaha YES finally someone on here who WOULD buy a Civic i knew it to be true!!!! :th_peaceout: and i tired several times, wicked Juggalos never die :th_biggrin2:

i know right how did that happen?, the new camaro is hot i would get one in a heart beat,

i think ford doenst improve the power of the GT simply because then it would take away from the Specialty Sales, the Cobra, Saleen, you start adding more power into the GT there is no "need" for those anymore, its all marketing, the late 80's to 97 Thunderbirds had all the potential to beat out the stang in every way, but ford held back on making it that way because it would effect the Mustang (their golden child) sales. in 97 they made only 7 SVT Cobra Thunderbirds, built on the Cobra Stang specs and the Tbird could beat out the mustang, (I have with a few Mods) but they kept it limited, Marketing Ploys

GM is the same way - nothing can be rated faster or more powerful than the Vette. Grand National and Camaro were better at times, but Chevy couldn't have that.

They made 4 Ford SVT Thunderbird's in 1997. And it was the predecessor for the Terminator M112 4.6 DOHC V8. The head honcho's knocked it out after 4 were made because they killed the T-Bird all together...not because it could beat the Mustang. You think that they think that way about the new LNF in the Cobalt SS? A tune from GM Performance Parts and they run with LS1's if not beat them. I've seen em run mid 13's stock. There went that theory. Plus...the Roush 427's are no faster than a GT. Proven at KCIR. With what 4 psi of boost from the Roushcharger? It takes as much HP from the motor to spin that blower. They run mid 13's along a bolt-ons N/A 4.6. They are slow.

correct it was 4 typo on my part, and they did kill off the Tbird before they could produce it, the fact that the Tbird prior to the SVT Project could have been made in 3 trims SC LX and GT is what they at ford did not want,(making a GT Trim would have boosted the sales and most likley the tbird would not have lost so much steam.) Why make a car that goes faster than the flagship mustang bone stock? they invested too much into making the mustang its main car that any other car would mean re-tooling the focus of the company. its a fact that when a dealership has a flagship car, they will not have any other car below it be just as fast, and you just said it yourself a Cobalt SS with a TUNE, not stock, anything can be tuned after the fact. It is marketing and they do it so their Flagship car is not beaten by its own cars. I think Ford SHOULD boost up the power of the GT stang, it deserves it. Comparing Flagship Cars between the Big 3 you have the Dodge Viper, the Corvette and the Mustang GT, which stock will NOT keep up with either car, Make it a Saleen then yeah those two have trouble, but thats a Saleen Mustang not the Flagship GT.

just like when gm released the fiero, they had plans to offer a twin turbo model, but it would have been faster than the corvette they had at the time, and that was supposed to be the fastest thing out, so they never released the turbo fiero. too bad though, woulda been sweet.

yes exacly, and they planned on the same thing or the Ford Probe, it was suppose to acutally Take over the mustangs spot, but they axed it because they had already built the foundation around the mustang.
