Noob Header questions

I managed to score a set of headers from the local yard for $55 (woot woot) off a top swapped regal. Anywho, I am obviously going to buy some new gaskets and some heat wrap, but is there anything else I am going to need?

-My car is a 2001, Am I going to have issues not running a cat?
-The EGR is blocked off on these headers. Is there going to be any problem with deleting my EGR?
-I am going to make my own o2 extension harness
-I am going to replace my hardware with some nice stainless stuff
-I am going to heat wrap the headers
-They are slip fit with band clamps so I should be good there
-

Thats all I can think about at the moment. I drive my car daily and I want to make sure I have all my bases covered for the least amount of downtime possible. I am not worried about the install at all. I have removed these at the junkyard and it didnt come close to doing headers on my old Probe GT. Thank you in advance for any help you guys can provide me with.

As long as I run a rear o2 it should just trigger a check engine light and not throw my car into limp mode or anything right? I am going to have a buddy make me a new downpipe to replace the trashed one that I have now. (damn junkyard cut it after the flexpipe) What size is the stock exhaust? 2 1/2?

Yea im looking at some 3inch mandrel bends on ebay right now. Im just worried I wont buy everything I need to make it to the stock exhaust. I suppose I could weld it all together and cut it if I ever need to take it off. I would need to buy a reducer though, Ill have to get under the car and measure to be sure.

I would imagine the drool is from going brain dead. Im gonna install the headers and have a hour and a half drive to my buddies. So that will be an hour and a half open headers. Id like to say the car cant sound worse than it already does, (thrush mufflers) but im sure it will.

Ill be wearing ear plugs and ear muffs. This car is like a kidnapped blonde in the trunk, You wanna keep it as quiet as possible.

i ran open headers to pull my car out of the garage after header install and all the neighbors were staring me down.

01+ cars have a Cat diag.

He needs a cat converter or he will get a check engine light. Or he needs a tuner to get around it. Or get fancy with a bung and welder and make the o2 not so far down in the exhuast stream, but it might not work.

You might want to get that flex and downpipe built before you put them in. After you put them in, the area where the flex is..is not really accessible. which is why they were easy to get off the jy car.

There is enough there that I think it should be ok. The flex was replaced with a better one and the typical u-bend that is on speed daddy's is still there with a little more. It just doesnt go all the way back to the stock catback is all.

As far as a tune goes. A member here has a spare PCM I sent him and I can have him throw a tune on it for me. But as far as a tune for my specific car, I can't seem to track down a local that knows how to tune.
