i have a 98 grand prix heater only worked on 4 and 5 then nothing, i replaced blower motor, but still no heat was told that its probably resistor have searched for any kind of instrution on removal, only thing i can find is a mention of the resistor. im not even sure what it looks like. i guess when i buy the part i'll knowthen. Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated winter almost here.

This car has a control module too and a resistor. The fan should come on at the highest speed. High speed is the defgault setting, since it is a full 12 volts to the motor. It does this as a safety for the driver, so there is some kinf fan speed, so you can drive. Does your blower come on in the high setting?

also, is your passenger floor ever wet after it rains? If so, I probably can guess why the blower motor may need replacing and there is an easy cheap fix to this problem. If this is happening let me know, and I will get you the info you need.

to sum it up the grand prix's did not come with a piece that it should have had from the factory to divert the water. Without installing this piece, the water runs down the air shaft onto the blower motor and then onto the floor. I will get the link for the part that you need to divert the water. This is literally a fifteen minute job and the part from GM was $4.00 Install this before you get your new parts installed. Read about it here: http://www.grandprixforums.net/f73/water-floorboard-take-2-permanent-fix-6961.html
