Next oil disaster.... Pirates??

Somali pirates hijack $20M of oil going to US - Yahoo! News Becasue of the incredible amount of oil aboard these ships it wouldnt suprise me one bit if oil skyrockets again because of pirates. In this day and age it seems weird to believe but what would happen if one of these things were hit by an rocket propelled grenade? At such a slow cruising speed theyre a very easy target and I know for a fact RPGs can pierce and armored humvee, Bradleys or M1 tanks. I wouldnt doubt for a second one could wreak havoc on a ship, especially with no escort. Ive been saying for almost 5 years now the next place the US fights a war will be in Africa. What does everyone else think I personally dread 5 dollar a gallon gas again.

Do you think an insurance company would insure that ship full of crude if hijacked by pirates? And do you think they'd insure the ship if it leaked the crude into the ocean from a RPG puncture? If so when you find a company like that let me know ill make millions.:th_laugh-lol3:

yes, you can insure anything...people insure their arms and legs for 50 mil, why couldnt you insure a load of cargo. It may not be cheap, but no insurance really is. Why do you think insurance companies are in business? They are there to make money just like everyone else. Do you seriously think that you couldnt find one company to insure it? It might not be cheap, but you can do it. Do you realize how small of an amount 20 million dollars of oil is in the big picture? Don't you think other cargo other than oil gets robbed? Come on guys, I know you are smarter than to think that miopically about this.
