You painted the GT on there? Thats pretty dang good. I like what you did, nice work, but you probably should have let it cure longer. Looks like the bolts scraped some of the paint off. Though I had the same issue when I painted some of my stuff and I baked them. But after the fact I thought I probably would have been better letting the parts sit overnight at least.

Looks good man, I like the GT detail there.
Sucks the paint chipped on you when you tightened down the bolts. Personally, what I would do is go get me some stainless steel washers to put under them, not only will it hide the chipped paint...but will give the back of the bolt head something smooth to turn against.
Looks like semi shiny black paint under there still...a good paint job is always in the prep work. You have to break, or scuff the surface to rough up the area to be painted so the new paint has something to hang on to. If you paint on a smooth shiny surface, the new paint doesn't stand a chance. Thats where sand paper, a scuff pad, or my personal favorite, sand blasting comes into play quite nicely.

I said screw paint on stuff like this years ago, and just did the powder coating. You can be as rough as you want with it, and not hurt it if its done right.
I had thought about going all stainless bolts under my hood for the brackets and stuff like this. But getting them all in the right size and the same bolt head is kinda hard to do, and make it look good under the hood.
So next best thing I did was take the stockers, and have them all hard chrome plated. Looks pretty bad ass against my red powder coated parts under the hood. I just installed them a week ago, might take some pictures and post them up some time for ya.

I hear ya. Its easy to do and if you get good enough equipment, you can sometimes do a pretty good quality job. I don't do my power coating, I take it to a local company and have them do it. I don't want to mess with the mess of it, and having to buy the additional equipment.
Out of town orders are accepted if your ever interested. :th_biggrin2
ick a color, they have a couple of hundred that they can do. I do this for a lot of people, your only charge is the powder coating and return shipping with you supplying the parts. I will do the rest for nothing. Here is a few new engine bay shots for ya thats recent with some chrome plated hard wear so you can see what all that looks like with powder coated parts. (that were powder coated back in 2001 and have been removed/reinstalled hundreds of times since then) Not to rub it in, or show off, just giving you and others some more ideas to dress up your engine bay since were all on the same goal and ideas here.

Depends on what color you go with. If its part of their normal run, like red, the following blacks, flat, satin, gloss, and then there is silver, metallic silver, and gray are the colors they normally run weekly, and can be added into the stuff already being done. If its an off color as we call it, like yellow, purple etc. takes a little longer, and costs just a little more.
