Cool stuff man, wish I had the cash or place for that kind of setup.

My tools do me fine for the moment though.

I had a 250 piece set in the plastic box and a gym bag with pliers and stuff that got me by but now im actually making the slow move into a career at this
between my box and those tools and jacks compressor and the misc other stuff im into it for close to 3k that isnt all that bad
I still need a few more toys Im thinking of adding a 2 post lift to my drive way

Still not a whole lot. Keep building your collection.

And I had to laugh that you labeled the drawers. When my wife helps me in the garage to hand me tools, she is amazed that I know exactly where is which drawer is the small cold chisel, or the strap wrench. Work with them long enough and you learn where they are.

Get a spray bottle of used oil... spray all the contents of the box and the box itself.. tada! ya look like a true mechanic!

I was at work one day, and one of the matinence guys working on the coder for a sub-contrator got fired. He lived in texas, and needed money to return. I bought all his equipment, a large cabinet (Snap-on Blue Point) and stock full of new tools! all for 1200 bucks!! and you know what?... havent used it at all... sites in the warehouse covered up next to my Camaro... sad but I suppose some day I will need it. :)

I labeled them only due to the fact i am a little anal about organizing
and a few friends help me at times plus helps me keep track of any tools missing

I still have close to 1k in tools I would like to get
Plus some better air tools but its a decent set up and i have done huge jobs with less tools

I've probably got about 5k in all my tools at this point and i'm still in a cheapo box! Hows the drawers on that box? Are they bearing or just sliders? And one thing i would recommend is getting a full torx bit set and allen set from Astro or Cornwell (astro is MUCH cheaper) and also for your racheting wrenches check out the Blackhawks. There angle head reverseables and about as cheap as a quality wrench gets, and they don't break!

Ratcheting wrenchs
a torx set allens are all on the list Im getting some better ratchets as well either snap on or matco and a matco digital torque wrench

this is just basically a core set so far

As far as the box Im really pleased with it its ball bearing drawers and holds over 2500 pounds
Ill probably end up getting another box or the add on side boxes for this one when i get more tools

A buddy of mine just landed a job at a small shop and asked if i could sell him my stuff or help him set up a box
i told him 3k and the box is his
or for 3k ill set him up
funny people i go to school with

I'm not a mechanic by trade, but the box I have at home in the garage is a little smaller than yours, with a smaller 5 drawer on top. It is craftsman ball bearing and loaded. I just recently bought a box for the basement the same size, but with slides instead of bearing. This is for my woodworking, machinist, and gunsmithing tools. This one isn't filled, but probably will be in short time.

I just ordered a snap on ethios scan tool to add to my box. My classic 78 is packed full and I have a blue point cart with other diagnostic stuff in it.

The ethos is awesome I might buy one in march Im using ease diag software with my laptop now so i may see how extensive it gets
I would love ta have been able to buy a matco or snap on box
I have a lot of tools to get yet but im happy so far

the snap on and matco's are sharp, but damn they're high!!!!:i;ll take one with a/c and dvd please..

If I had the cash I would be rockin a modis. They can do so much more, but we have one at work that I can use when ever I need to.

yea 5k+ for a modis vs what 1100 for an ethios

we have 6 modis carts with 5gas at school they rock

i have seen them on cl for 1500-3000

Nice collection. :)

Usually I mooch off the tools at a buddy's shop, but I don't like to take up space there if I don't really need to use the lift for something, so today I went out and started buying some of my own. 25-250lb torque wrench, racheting socket wrenches, and a set of sockets. I need to get a torque wrench that will go down lower than 25lb though, as well... and many other things. Haha.

nice setup. wish i had money for a nice tool box or some decent tools. You don't even want to see what i'm working off of. Any time i do work i basically just take it to a friends house and steal his tools
