Hello everyone I bought a 2001 GTP for a second car at a cheap price had service light on when bought it took it in and had the codes read and this is what I got P0202 injector circuit open cylinder 2
code p1404 EGR closed position and p0300 random misfire I know one of the other codes could be giving me the misfire code. The car seems to run fine plenty of power but you can hear a little misfire and also feel it a little when giving it gas. Body and interior are in really nice shape paid 1900 for the car just want to get the engine up to tune. Any suggestions? Oh and the fuel gauge always reads full...
nice to meet everyone I'm sure I will be a regular here

Gas reading full is a fuel sender issue. Pretty easy to replace the fuel pump. It's in the trunk accessible through the back seat so no need to drop the tank.

I don't believe a would cause that. I would to the other members chime In for more help. Sites pretty active in the morning.

You can swap the ignition coil pack and if the misfire appears on the cylinder you swapped with then you know the coil pack is shot... And have you pulled the plug with misfire? Maybe there's a different issue? Start from the plug and work your way back.

Previous owner could of cracked a plug installing them.

I believe #4 plug is the hardest to get too, he could of cracked that one or any other, giving you a misfire.

If its not a plug/wire. Swap the coil pack, if the misfire follows, then your Coil pack is bad.

If that doesnt work, have your ICM tested. Also a clogged fuel filter could be part of the problem too.

First, PLUG THE INJECTOR BACK IN. Circut open 90% of the time means the plug is disconected, broken wire at the plug, or the injector is actually bad. THEN...

Change the plugs and wires anyway, so YOU know they are good. Also if the EGR is stuck open it will cause a P0300 code, random multiple cylender misfire due to a vacume leak, but save that for last.

If it still missfires, unplug each wire at each prong on the coil packs while the cars running to see which one isnt sparking (would be a good idea to use a pair of insulated pliers)
