New tire recomendations

It is time to replace my current tires and was looking for some feedback on some that I have come across.

Thanks
-Mike

I am currently running 245/45-18 yokohama yk520.

I'm looking for somethng that offers some comfort. Even though I live in southern california, I don't need any high performance tires. My grand prix is my daily driver and that is all I use it for. Not looking to break the bank.

This is what I came across.

Get round blacks ones..

I'd go with the yoko's or those coopers. Them coopers are really nice IMO.

Don't buy the ASX's, they might last you 25k miles if that. I've owned them before.

I just bought a set of the 4x, if you are driving them in snow, well they are acceptable. Ice mediocre. Wet or dry roads, no complaint's and they hook fairly well on cold asphalt and concrete.

I just bought a set for summer tires but haven't tried them out yet.
I asked Ridin On Chrome what he thought of them after seeing he had some and he said for the money they are great.
I figured $400(what I paid....no certificate + valve stems) and for summer, coolio. I don't plan on pulling a Steve McQueen.
They usually get halfway decent reviews.....then you can get some more detailing stuffs :th_winking:

Cool that makes me feel good about my purchase

If Red runs em....well then they have to be good!!

Previous had Hancook Ventus V12 which were awesome but after I hit the curb and popped 2 of them I needed something to replace them and was on a budget at the time so the Nankangs were my choice. Figured if I can get a year or 2 out of them I'll be happy :)

Check the reviews several guys run them and are very happy.

I installed a set of Yokohama Advan S4 on my GTP, what a difference, love these tires, got a great deal from Zack Taylor at discount tire, would highly recommend these tires, great in wet conditions also!

Yeah Steven (Ridin On Chrome) gave me some good reviews of this tire. He's usually my go to wheel and tire guy. My grand prix is a daily driver so I may just give them a shot.

You're right that would leave me with more to spend on detailing stuff :th_thumb-up:.

I run those currently. No complaints pretty good traction on both wet and dry pavement. Snow well... Idk what that is lol. I'm very happy for what I paid for them.

Thanks for the response. We don't get snow in the part of california I'm in so it's not a problem. My commute to work is close and I would say I drive about 4-5K miles a year.

Sold the rs3-a to my friend with a G6. He has 17s and says they're the best tires he's ever had on that vehicle. Love cooper as a company and those are great tires.

I will never buy a junk Cooper tire again in my life, waste of money. I personally have never seen one in any model line go furthur than 20k miles. I bought brand new Zeon ZPTs for my na eclipse and I got 15k mile out of them on a 90hp fwd. My dad had CS4 tourings on his minivan he got around 18k out of those, then he got lifeliners GLS they are 3/4 of the way to the bars now at 12k. Good friend put RS3 -S on his 300hp AWD dsm and only got 8k out of them.

For OP.....
I love my Falken pt-722's for a cheap all season. Will definitely buy again. Actually just ordered Falken 912's for my winter beater two days ago. Whatever you go with check out discounttiredirect.com, they have consistently been the cheapest place I could find on my last 3 tire purchases plus the tires show up in 1 day usually.

Ha! You recommend falken over cooper!?! None of our sales people would even tell customers we offered falken because literally every set we sold would be bald, out of round, or have some other defect within a couple months. However we sold coopers daily with almost no unhappy customers ever. Take it from someone who's sold thousands of sets of tires in their lifetime. Some people get lucky and get a useable set of falkens, most don't.

we moved a lot of problem free kumhos and generals as well. They are both decent along with cooper for lower priced tires.
