• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New MazdaSpeed3

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Just talked to spec and they just say be real easy on it for the first 500 and if it slips after that then call them.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Yep, until the clutch is broken in it would slip. Make sure you follow proper break in procedure. I can't imagine a stage 5 will be much fun on the street, I would expect lots of chattering on engagement. I wouldn't suspect the master/slave unless you are having spin down issues. Did you get rid of the accumulator between them? Probably not a bad idea to pull it apart and check for trans fluid on the clutch after a few hundred miles. I know how much those cost and I'd hate to see you ruin one so fast.

Actually virtually no chatter now that its breaking in, at first it was ridiculously loud. It just chirps now. Driving it really isn't as bad as people made it out to be, sure its an on off switch but I havn't driven a stick in 2 years and I havn't stalled it once. Looked at the clutch and it seemed dry.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Well dads f150 blew out a plug and cant insert it. FML looks like the next week or 2 is going to be replacing a ****ing head. I finally convinced him to buy a new camaro though lol.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

So shop said it couldnt be inserted because the hole was to big and said the head had to be replaced and quoted $2700. I told my dad i would replace the head for him and we ordered a head for 250$ tested. Upon further inspection the shop was full of **** and was just trying to get more money out of my dad. I rethreaded it and put a helicoil in no problem. Thing that bothers me is im one of the more well known parts guys in town and do business with this place everyday. Not to smart when everyone in town comes to me for advice on thing/recommendations.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

why i dont go to shops. all of them will just bend you over for the most part. a good honest shop is hard to find.
