New MazdaSpeed3

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Yea keeping input shaft speed up usually helps. Lots of stick-shifters develop a preferred lubricant cocktail of their own, maybe thats something else to look into where gains could be had. Not talking about like dumping sawdust in things with gears to sell a hunk of junk, but the same principle. Don't know if your trans has ATF or 80/90 in it or what, but more cushioning from lube might be key. Anything with synchros that has to be double clutched is well... not right. May not last long.

these trans are very finnicky and req gm syncromesh. I wouldnt risk throwing anything else in.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Took awhile to find these
Now if i can just figure out how to wire my car into neutral i think ill be able to drive it and rev over 3500 rpm. But ill have to remove the key lock mechanism.
As of now i have wire f and j grounded to trick it into park but my rev limiter is set at 3500 even though hpt says 7k for park a neutral.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

damn, bill just sold one of them trans controllers too. im sure hes got directions how to make it.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Wish i had a dhp to use, i might be able to just set it to manual in tiny tuner.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

its in tt. transmission type it need to be changed to 0 = manual.

0=Manual
1=4L60e
2=4T65e
3=?
4=4T45e
5=?

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Make a switch that goes from park to drive... Easy ways to see if it all works

Royal Purple and Amsoil have Synchromesh equivalents, just an FYI but you probably knew this. Again, good luck chasing out the gremlins. Does a carb and distributor sound good to you yet? lol

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

Scott... take a 2004 file and pull the trans to a manual for him. Send him that file and see how it works....as a test.

Re: Gins 04 Comp G 5 speed?

WOOT I GOT IT

Ended up saying **** it and started grounding the the 4 trans range wires until i found neutral. The yellow g and white j wires grounded is neutral and allows me to start the car and lets me set the rev limiter in hpt to w/e i want. Car pulls amazing. Got pretty boss at double clutching and pretty much doesnt grind at all. Only thing i noticed is slight slipping of clutch and idk if its due to only having 100 miles on the clutch or if my input shaft seal is leaking and coating the clutch. Ill jack it up later and take a look. Its funny though, people look at me like im nuts because the clutch chirps every take off/ shift.

Oh i also had a couple seasoned mechanics like wtf? Cus they know grand prixs dont come manual.
