New accelerator pedal reset procedure on '08. Need the procedure or steps.

Still working on my grandkids '08, which was showing reduced power screen. I put a new pedal in and it was idling badly afterwards, so I stuck the old one back in and the idle returned to normal. While I was looking up some info for other work on the car, I found a video on accelerator pedal/sensor resetting. The guy went through the reset feature on his truck (key to accessories, not turned on, then press the pedal slowly to the floor and hold for 15 seconds, then slowly let off and turn the key off, then start the vehicle. But he mentioned that every vehicle has it's own procedure, so look it up in the manual. I don't have a manual, so can somebody tell me what the steps are for this car? I'd like to put the new one back in and see if it will help the limp mode problem if I calibrate it correctly. Thanks for any help on this. Lee
