need some help, something is seriously wrong

So my car is really going fubar, and I need to know how I can troubleshoot it

02 GP automatic

pretty sure it wont shift past second, I can get it up to about 50 MPH unless Im going downhill, but when I am going up hill and try to give it more gas it bogs down, doesnt move at all, and acts like it slipped into neutral.

Also, that same drive that this happened, my front manifolds were bright CHERRY red, it looked like a damn red neon in my engine bay

can someone please tell me what is up, much appreciated

I'd suspect that yur Cat, is stopped up. Are, yur exhaust is plugged/crimped some where.

Yep. Cat is plugged. Luckily GM knows of the 01-02 defects and will replace it for free if your car has less than 120,000 miles on it.
