Need Info, how to remove windshield wiper arms

I ordered and want to install the passenger side water deflector from the write/up forums regarding the water in the floor boards. I have the one piece cowl and will need to remove the the windshield wiper arms in order to remove the cowl to install the deflector. Anybody know how going about removing the arms? Thanks in advance.

Also, anybody know of a deflector for the driver side? I find my floor boards get wet on both sides. If you do know of a driver side deflector and the GM part number that would be greatly appreciated.

Bump, I'm feeling retarded this morning. I think it's a nut then relieve pressure off the arm and you can pop them up.

uhm i tried this once, remove nut and i pried up. actually my buddy thought he cold tap on the bolt as i was pulling, well he missed and i got a knick in the winshield. I thought some ppl are not meant to work on cars.

Ok, so it is that way. I probably used a trim popper tool to pull them off, as I recall the proper puller didn't work well.

I just did this a couple days ago to my 97 with the 1 piece cowl. Not sure if this is the proper way, but I looked and never saw any other release other than the nuts on the arms so I took a rag and a pair of vice grips and wiggled and tugged and they popped right off. I am one not to force stuff cuz I hate breaking stuff, so I figured there must have been a retainer of some kind but I never saw one even after taking the arms off. Yours might be different than mine so proceed with care. GL.

Deflector works slick too. Thanks to the original write up guy!
