Need help with Security relearn and motor mounts

Picked up an Overkill tune for my 08 gxp from a fellow member on here (DirtDog) and cant seem to get this thing going. Ive been trying to do the relearn with no luck. After waiting the 15min then turning it off for the 10seconds, it seems like its every other 3 tries where the "security" light will come on the dash. Sometimes it wont come up, other times it will but it wont start regardless.


followed this
1. Turn key to start, see security light, move key to on. Wait atleast 15 minutes. Turn to off. Wait 10 seconds.
2. Turn key to start, see security light, move key to on. Wait atleast 15 minutes. Turn to off. Wait 10 seconds. (second time)
3. Turn key to start, see security light, move key to on. Wait atleast 15 minutes. Turn to off. Wait 10 seconds. (third time)


Does the new pcm need to be sent back for my VIN? I know a Case relearn will need to be done but i cant even get past the security relearn.
If i end up getting the car started with the key, will it always work from there on out? Or can this security problem come back?

Once it starts it won't bug you again, one security learn is all you need. I don't believe the VIN has to be the same, and for 04+ I don't think you need a CASE learn either, unless you or the previous owner have/had an aftermarket cam.

I got it running and have a trouble code for the case relearn. Trying to get this squared away, seems like not too many people have a scanner that do this option. Hate to take it to the dealer around here esp with a tuned pcm..

Here's from the pamphlet I received when I got my tuned pcm from him. Mine is an 06 GT supercharged tho n not a gxp. If this doesn't help, maybe email will.

Thanks for the Help, i unfortunately dont have one, nor does anyone near me. Going on a decent road trip this weekend, so tryiing to get it done before hand.. lol whats new haha


Have a side question for you guys about motor and trans mounts or another culprit
I replaced the wheel bearing and cv axle and right after this is starting making a noise..
When shifting to reverse from park, no noise, when you start to accelerate or torque the motor down some i makes a decent clunk noise. same with reverse to drive, once the torque is applied it clunks or thuds pretty good.
I looked at it long and hard last week, had the wheel off the passenger side i was looking at the axle splines going into the wheel bearing and seemed like the noise was coming directly into there.
Can the wheel bearing be bad, cv axle or a motor mount throwing the sound up the cv axle?
it didnt seem liek the mounts moved at all, but it was hard to see and i know the GXPs love tearing up the mounts, hence why im thinking its those too..


Are the 3800 mounts the same as the 5.3? am i better going to GM for new lower mounts and Intense racing for poly uppers?
im lost on this one
