Hey guys I looking to buy a 98 gtp fully loaded with 160kms for around $2500. At a glance it seems like a good deal to me but i took it for a test drive and it seems to have a few issues. 1) the brakes need to be replaced because they are ****. 2) it has a custom exhaust that sounds like it has a leak. and 3) the engine shakes the entire car. So i'm not so worried about number 1 and 2 so much but number 3 has me worried. I inspected the car pretty decently and the engine shakes and kind of makes a knocking sound that seems to be coming from the supercharger. ANY opinions or analysis would be appreciated! thanks guys
 


The snout of the blower has to come off there is a plastic coupler in there and it gets worn out and need replacing every now and again.
 


yup you guys nailed it i think. so i got bad brakes, possible exhaust leak, and this coupler. how much do you guys think all this would cost me?
 
Coupler and supercharger fluid shoudl be about $40 tops and the brakes and exhaust leak it really just depends.
 
Doing the brakes and sc coupler yourself probably about $100. Exhaust will vary. I had a turbo back put on my passat for $150 at a local exhaust shop.
 


Well hopefully the guy wont mind me taking it to a parts store to check codes but if there arent any codes does that rule out the cylinder?
 
It could need a tune up pretty badly too. and it might be a chipped piston. Although they usually idle pretty good with a chip.
